King Deuce tetradistic stack (no need for the Harry Riser pairs)
Complete "King Deuce" stack: KC, 2H, AC, 4D, 3S, 6H, 5C, 8D, 7S, 10H, 9C, QD, JS KD, 2C, AD, 4S, 3H, 6C, 5D, 8S, 7H, 10C, 9D, QS, JH KS, 2D, AS, 4H, 3C, 6D, 5S, 8H, 7C, 10D, 9S, QH, JC KH, 2S, AH, 4C, 3D, 6S, 5H, 8C, 7D, 10S, 9H, QC, JD This has the same groups as the Seven Queens V1 stack and the Jackknife V3 stack however the order of the cards within the group is different. This stack uses the same mod 4 calculations as the Seven Queens stack in order to do an acaan calculation but with one significant difference: instead of using Harry Riser pairs for the final addition do the following: ----------------------------- Acaan: After determining the offset number: If the named card is a King add 1 to the offset giving the position of the spectator named card else If the named card is an odd number card then add the value of the named card and add constant 2 to the offset giving the position of the spectator named card. If the named card is even then just add the value of the named card to the offset giving the position of the spectator named card. ----------------------------- To do "next card" determination: In general the rules are: If the current card is an even number then: Go back one notch to know the value of the next card and advance one notch from the suit of the current card to know the suit of the next card. If the current card is an odd number then: Advance three notches to know the value of the next card and advance one notch from the suit of the current card to know the suit of the next card. Note that with the exception of the Jacks and Kings we always advance forward one notch (SHoCkeD suit sequence) regardless of whether the current card is odd or even. There are a couple of exceptions: If the current card is a male (ie: a Jack or King) then: Advance two notches to know the value of the next card and go back one notch from the suit of the current card to know the suit of the next card. Memory trick: males take two steps forward and grab the prior suit and pass it to the next card. With these simple arrangements we can eliminate the need for two features that the Seven Queens stack needed: 13 stories and we can also eliminate the need for the Harry Riser pairs. ----------------------------- |

King Deuce stack full acaan rules:
Spectator verbally states the identity of any card. Note that suit values are: Spades equal 1. Hearts equal 2. Clubs equal 3. Diamonds equal 4. The Magician or shill thinks as follows: Adds the value of the card and the value of its suit giving a possible number of 2 through 17. Then always divides that result by by the constant 4 giving a remainder of 0 or 1 or 2 or 3. That remainder identifies an offset number: 0=0 1=13 2=26 3=39 If the named card is a King add 1 to the offset giving the position of the spectator named card else If the named card is an odd number card then add the value of the named card and add constant 2 to the offset giving the position of the spectator named card. If the named card is even then just add the value of the named card to the offset giving the position of the spectator named card. ----------------------------- |

IMO although this "King Deuce" stack is not as random looking as the "Seven Queens" stack nor Jacknife stack this "King Deuce" stack still looks a little better than a Si Stebbins and has less memory work than the Seven Queens stack and can still easily do the "acaan" calculation and can easily do the "next card" calculation.
Unfortunately this "King Deuce" stack has the alternate color suit pattern, but this can be covered by a clumped spreading of the face up cards when initially displaying the deck. Also note that this King Deuce stack can do acaan tricks much easier than a Si Stebbins stack and can do the "next card" calculation almost as easy as a Si Stebbins stack. |

Note that the Seven Queens stack, Jackknife V3 stack, and the King Deuce stack all use the exact same 4 groups of 13 cards (this means the mod 4 technique to get the offset number is exactly the same on these three stacks), however they will have a different order within the 13 cards and thus a different final addition ie: Harry Riser pairs or not.

Comparing The Seven Queens stack, Jackknife V3 stack and King Deuce stack versus the Harding stack:
Imo the Harding Stack is a better looking stack and has a good acaan formula (the 20 cards that you have to do a -5 +5 is annoying), but it's weakness is that it's "next card" calculation is somewhat difficult. Also it's reconstruction when some cards get out of place is more difficult. |
