Wrong (again) David. As I said in an earlier post, I will not comment publicly on my private conversation with Nique.

Davids audiences seem to be his subordinates, and patients. Now, he's got chops, and knowledge, no doubt. But, the arrogance is hard to circumvent at this point. Any commentary he offers is overshadowed by his inflated ego, and simply not worth it. It's really a shame, because I used to enjoy, and look forward to, his reviews. They are not (always) unbiased from my observations.
Full disclosure; Bill and I "know" each other through polite emails, centered mostly around discussions related to mentalism. He knows this is my full time bread and butter. He also knows I always give him my honest opinion on his releases. So, I also have no skin in this game. But fair is fair, and disrespecting his very workable p$$k option is flat out of line imo.
Good luck convincing the people here, that have appreciated his top shelf thinking for years, otherwise.

Have a nice day.

David,

All of this negative energy you have towards The FOMO Peek - a product you admit to not having purchased, not having read, not having road tested.

Why? Examine your motives.

You've demonstrated on other threads that you just keep on posting, and posting and posting, and arguing, and arguing...

I'm not interested in that, so this is going to be my last reply to you on this thread.

The facts are:

1. By your own admission, you did not purchase The FOMO Peek and do not own it

2. Therefore you have not read the original manuscript

3. Nor have you have read any of the supplements

4. You have not road tested the peek, in it's original form, or any of the streamlined handlings taught in the supplements

5. You apparently have only seen a bad performance on video chat

Yet you seem intent on saying the method is "terrible" and is "transparent".

Based on the facts above, your opinion is entirely uniformed. Without owning the product and actually performing it, you have no basis for forming an opinion one way or the other.

And the opinion you seem to hold is the opposite of what every authentic owner of the product has written about it. You are alone in your uniformed opinion.

Again, I ask why? Examine your motives, David.

You have clearly and compellingly made my case that you operate out of very strong Unconscious Biases.

I'm not willing to spend any more time or energy responding to you.

No clue who you are 252life (mystery guy) but no worries!

Arrogance is a magic creator obviously making someone take down their review because they didn't agree with it. I can't stand to see someone get bullied. Nique Tan is the ONLY reviewer I have seen on youtube who has the guts to actually say negative things about magic products. The review he put out on this product was fair. As others have pointed out, it was even nicer than what someone else would have said. I know the mechanics and the method of this peek. It was shown to me by someone who purchased this. The reason why Bill can't put out a performance video is because the peek is SUPER transparent. I spotted it instantly when it was performed for me. Is that arrogant to tell people that?? There are MUCH better business card peeks out there. I can easily name half a dozen. Heck - I might even put out a new updated Top 5 business card peek review to steer people in a much better direction!

I have nothing against Bill. In fact, I didn't even remember his little spat over my review of Spidey's Penguin Lecture until he mentioned it.

People don't have to agree but trying to stifle someone's review because you don't like it is just wrong.

I love the Café man Smile

I hope Bill makes a lot of sales off this, keep hustling brother. I hope David releases that peek video because his content is great, especially the billet stuff. I missed this particular review but I hope we all subscribe to Niques channel and support his efforts, which I always find entertaining and informative.

You guys are great.

Hi guys,

So… many of you who managed to watch the episode, have contacted me privately via private messages and emails, to express that there wasn’t a need for me to remove the video. I thought I’d just say something here.

Out of respect, I cannot publicity list the reasons why Bill wanted the video removed. I can however, say that it did not involve the exposure of methods in any way whatsoever, nor was there any ill intent on my part. My subscribers can vouch for this - I’m simply not like that.

Let’s just say that Bill had opinions on my opinions in the video and I decided it was for the best for me to make the video private.

I’m relatively new to the review game, and am only just learning how it works. I will no doubt get better after this.

Alright, back to The FOMO Peek guys!

David, just because you, as a knowledgeable magician, "spotted" the p$$k, doesn't make it bad. Also, saying you know "better" approaches is subjective as well. Whats wrong with equally viable options? You may hate it, and someone else may end up using it exclusively. You know this already, so I don't really get the issue to begin with. And based on posts, on this thread alone, many other knowledgeable people disagree that it's "super transparent".
As for the Nique review conversation, I have no idea or opinion. I like and respect both men, and trust it's none of my concern.

Nique is a gentleman and was respectful of my request, which was made respectfully also.

Nique, I have sent you the most recent version of The FOMO Peek with the four supplements, explaining the walk-around, impromptu, and much streamlined handlings.

I would like to think that if Bill made a sensible and persuasive request to Nique asking him to remove his review of Bill’s new FOMO peek, the fact that Nique apparently acquiesced will prove to be the exception rather than the rule. However, I have to admit that it does concern me.

Because IMO if Nique, or any reviewer, continues to respect a creator's wishes and pulls a review if the creator has “an opinion about his opinion” and asks him nicely to remove it, well, there won’t be much point in producing a review show because the reviewers credibility (the single most important asset a reviewer can have) will be quickly lost. Perhaps in this case Nique simply got some facts wrong or misstated some things.

I think I would prefer it if it were announced that the release of Nique's review of FOMO was merely delayed and not entirely eliminated. I always very much enjoy Nique's reviews and hope to continue to do so. I very much hope also that Nique made the right call in this particular case but as I stated, it is concerning.

Sigh…

As much as I’d love to explain, I think only Bill can comment on this. I do hope that you guys will still continue to enjoy future episodes that I produce on my channel.

Great additions by Scott Creasey as well as the Phone Mo version. Just shows how the FOMO peek can be adapted to suit everybodys style.

I think with Scott Creaseys subtle touches it is now clean as a whistle in a walk around/close-up performance situation. Same goes for the Phone Mo version.

Just excellent - thanks a lot.

OK,

I don't want to get involved in this argument but felt I should say something regarding this peek.

But first, let me say Bill is one of a very small group from within our fraternity that I have been corresponding with for years and in particular we both have a mutual passion for the Q&A which we've discussed at length. I count him as a friend with a very creative imagination where mentalism is concerned but that friendship, contrary to what has been insinuated, is not an influencing factor especially when it comes to mentalism which I take very seriously. If I thought it was crap I'd have told him so, privately.

As for the FOMO peek, he sent me a copy when he first released it and I read it and then read it again with the required props at hand. The handling Bill explained I struggled with at first not because it is difficult but because we are different people with different hands and I hadn't put it the practice required it's as simple as that.

However, I never take any sleight no matter how simple, or any routine at face value, I always spend time trying to adapt anything I learn to fit me before I dismiss it or offer any comment and this was no exception. I shared my thoughts and how I'd adapted the handling with Bill which he read digested and decided were worthy of inclusion in one of the supplements.

There are hundreds if not thousands of peeks out there and all peeks without exception can be angle sensitive, especially when working close up. All handlings require hours of practice and choreographing to suit our own style and levels of competence and of course, what one person see's potential in another will dismiss as rubbish.

So adapting and refining to suit me, I reduced the number of cards, I did away with the numbered envelopes and used the large envelope to have the banded stack sealed in after a coloured rubber band had been chosen from that same envelope. I then incorporated an idea that Nique actually proposed in this thread before the crap hit the fan where he suggested asking the spectator to write a number from 1 - 9 on the outside of the envelope before they put it away, but as I write this I'm actually thinking 0 - 21 and give a tarot reading instead.

But of course no matter how many modifications you make, without the original to work from there'd be no starting point and that is what is important.

Have I performed my modified version using the original peek? Yes just to road test it for my own amusement, in total six times admittedly for people that I know but to be honest they are my harshest critics. Is it suitable for walk around, well in its original form no but then Bill never said it was and he presented it as a formal test conditions demonstration. Could my adapted version be used in walk around? well yes I'd just make up five or six envelopes with everything required stored in them

So I stand by my original comment about this being good and even if you don't like the props or the routine, the peek itself is another to add to your arsenal.

Cheers.

Getting a review removed is wrong. End of.
You wouldn't see the New York Times remove a critical review of a play.

We don't know why it was removed but this doesn't bode well for reviewers in the future.
