May I add my name to the current pool of applicants?
I've spent this past year coming to realize the so-called "peek wallet" screams "gimmick" as loudly as a classic red velvet change bag. We need full view billet peeks right there in the company of the blank billet stack. No envelope, no wallet, just billets and a rubber band. Anyway, count me as interested. If you want a review, send me a review copy. If you want a sale, let me know price and ordering info. Regards, S. Antler The Amazing Dr. A |

I am delighted Jan has been selected to receive The FOMO peek. He is a true connoisseur of peeks as well as knows what works well in the real world. I am really looking forward to reading his thoughts on this one as well as trying this out myself.

As a childhood friend of Bob Cassidy before he discovered the World of Mental of which he changed...and who he lived with me when I created and planned his one and only major..performance/lecture tour of the East Coast back in 2007 (hard to believe it was that long ago...)...I would be interested in this....as we shared many thoughts from back in the old days when we worked at Mecca Magic on Saturdays as the "demo guys" when Professor Ted Collins of Panama Rope Mystery (Tarbell 2 ) was out performing...Bob also became a trusted part of my Magic Store ... Mystic Myron's Magic Mart back in the 70's....I've seen some stuff over the years that he would give a thumbs up...and more stuff that people think they improved on some of his thinking......but...they didn't get it...Rock on' !

Ok,the FOMO peek arrived in my email today. Yay!
I have given it one initial read-through. What you receive is a complete, wonderful routine that includes the peek which is the backbone of the effect. There is quite a lot to unpack here, and it will be awhile before I will be comfortable enough to give this a go for real people - not that it's difficult at all, quite the contrary. I just want to be able to do it justice before commenting further. Again, the peek itself appears to be very easy and fully covered within the routine. I will be back in a week or two with further comments after working with it and testing it out. Thanks Stunninger! JD |

I too have just had glance to skim through the instructions. Although I have not yet chance to try, everything is clear and straightforward. In addition to the chance to get a full and unhurried peek, what I especially like is the mention and use of psychometry. A brilliant touch which, for me, helps make the whole routine more special and memorable.
The FOMO peek is FOMOdible! Well done Bill and will report back when I have had chance to use. Neil |

I was fortunate enough to have Stunninger (Bill) send me his FOMO Peek pdf yesterday.
If you have any of Bill’s previous material, then you won’t be surprised to hear that the FOMO Peek is simple, clean, well thoughtout, well motivated and absolutely fooling. The PDF is 29 pages and details not only the FOMO Peek, but also a routine called “Psychic 70’s” which is a drawing dupe routine that incorporates some psychometry and numerology to reveal a participant’s drawing. Just how much you go down the “personal reading” path is up to you. For those that don’t focus on readings, you can keep it simple, but there’s also an opportunity to do a more detailed reading if that’s your style. As Bill points out in his original post - everything is ungaffed and ungimmicked - the business cards, the sharpie, the envelopes, the rubber bands. And when you’re done with the routine, the participant is left with their drawing buried in a stack of business cards, wrapped in a rubber band and all sealed in an envelope that they hold and can keep. That’s about as clean as you can get!! My favorite part of this routine is the motivation Bill has created that allows you to get the peek. It’s a full card peek, and due to the clever handling, you not only have all the time in the world to get the peek, but the choreography of the routine completely justifies you staring directly at the drawing. As everyone who has every tried to get a peek knows, you want to avoid the giveaway moment of when you get that peek. Well, with Bill’s routine, there is no giveaway moment. Your gaze is always consistent with the reality of your actions. The FOMO Peek does involve a sleight - but it’s basic and easy, and executed under cover so no one will every see this moment. So, it will take a small amount of practice but again, it’s all part of Bill’s well motivated choreography of movement within the routine. Over the past few years Stunninger has been a powerhouse when it comes to creating and sharing simple, direct, versatile and absolutely fooling billet moves and routines. The FOMO Peek is a fitting addition to his already impressive collection of work. |

Bill kindly shared this with me, and I would like to echo other reviewers thoughts. This is a fantastic and well motivated peek of a full billet.
There is no DIY involved just gather together some Stationery items and you are away. A few envelopes some rubber bands, billets and a sharpie. The peek does require a little move but anyone conversant with basic card magic shouldn't have a problem, as Bill says in the manuscript he recommends practicing the required move, which should get it into the muscle memory, it really is a straightforward move, and I think you will pick it up even quicker if you have any card magic under your fingers. Bill finishes the manuscript asking the question why not just use a peek wallet? I think he answers this very well with the whole routine being about being able to leave the spectator with their thoughts written on one of your business cards buried in a stack of more cards inside a sealed envelope in their pocket. Rather than the card going back into the mentalists wallet into the mentalists pocket. They can keep and examine everything at the end, nothing to find. Bill has really achieved this goal, and the one required move is motivated by the Psychic 70's routine he supplies. The routine without giving too much away allows you full motivation for why you are having them rubber band the stack and seal it into an envelope, along the way you get multiple chances to provide short readings for your spectator, and Bill even goes through the way he prefers to do this giving you hints and tips and memory hooks. What Bill has here is a covered, fully motivated mechanical peek coupled with a wonderful routine that justifies the whole procedure, and leaves you totally clean and the spectator with a bunch of your business cards, what more can you ask for? Thank you Bill for another great billet routine and for your generosity in sharing this. |

Over the day I have been practicing the handling and delighted how easy it is to do and accomplish the necessary.
Tomorrow, the wife test but am confident it will pass with flying colours. The moment getting the peek is so well covered and when the spectator’s attention is elsewhere. Bill really has come up with something special here. Neil |

I have gone through the PDF that Stunninger sent, and have practiced the move (not even sure I'd call it a move, as that implies a sleight, and it's not really a sleight.)
I feel like I say this with every peek Bill releases, but I think it's important: his style and presentations are wholly different than what I do (he is often focused on psychic readings and such, which is not my style at all). So, figuring out how to use this requires some changes and rethinking, and I will not use this the way that he presents. And, yet, it's still absolutely wonderful, and I *will* be adding this to my arsenal of peeks, though with a series of changes to make it work for me. Bill always has come up with very straightforward peeks that are highly adaptable to all different styles, and even as he (very cleverly) weaves in elements of presentation as justification for certain things, with just a little bit of creativity it's not hard to adapt that to other kinds of mentalism/magic. I'm also (already) playing around with some adjustments, including using some of the "Underlooked" peek from Arthur. I actually think the two peeks have some similarities (both using non gimmicked cards, and the specs card is put in the center of the pile). Each has some pros and cons, with Bill's setup giving you an even clearer peek than Underlooked (which already gives you a pretty clear peek) with a lot more time to make the peek in a manner no one will ever suspect you're peeking. But by utilizing part of what makes Underlooked work, I think you can make the FOMO peek even cleaner. Overall, this is very useful and I will use it, just not in the same manner Bill does. Pros: no gimmicks, end completely clean, full clear peek with a huge amount of time to stare directly at it while they never suspect you're staring at it (this is Stunninger's specialty in so many of his peeks), very adaptable system that can be used in lots of ways. Cons: I wouldn't call these "cons" really, more just things to be aware of. You do have to practice "the move" to get it down, but it's not knacky at all. I feel like I was quite comfortable with it after about 5 quick tries in less than a minute. Bill recommends practicing "several hundred times" so that it's second nature, and that's not a bad suggestion, but don't think that means it's knacky or tough to pick up. I'd probably want to practice it some more before taking it out into the real world, but it's not difficult at all (and, actually, once you get it to work, it's pretty neat and you're left wondering why I've never done something like that before. Also, as it's currently set up, you do need a presentation to justify certain things. Bill's effect that he teaches has that, and it makes everything incredibly well motivated, but as noted earlier, I need to come up with a presentation that works for me. There are lots of possibilities here, and I don't think it will be difficult for anyone with a bit of experience in performing, but if you don't like Bill's presentation, just realize that it will be extremely helpful to have a carefully thought out presentation to make this work. This isn't like some other peeks that can work with just about any presentation. Certain moves need to be justified to make this work. I guess some might argue that there are angle restrictions, but that's true of just about any peek, and Stunninger's setup here gives you tremendous leeway with your angles. That said this is going into my arsenal of peeks, with some adjustments, and I can see lots of scenarios where this will be quite useful. It's classic Stunninger: clear, simple, with a few key aspects: ungimmicked, a full peek, with way more time to stare at the card (without anyone thinking you could be staring at the card) than just about any other peek out there (well, maybe a few other Stunninger's peeks give about the same amount of time for your peek). |
