Newbie here, sorry if this is the wrong form for this post, I apologize.
I have a question for all of you, please use the following information to try to answer my question if you would please? Without the use of any assistance or stooges, no gaffes, gimmicks, or other effects or things to assist, in your own honest opinion, right from 1 to 5 with one being the greatest of all time who do you think the five greatest card manipulators of all time are, please list in order from 1 be in the greatest down to number 5? Please remember, nobody is right and nobody is wrong, this is your own personal opinions, thank you? 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Please answer? Thank you! |

Though perhaps not in the same category as others mentioned, Fred Kaps was the first that came to my mind.
My ex-cat was named "Muffin". "Vomit" would be a better name for her. AKA "The Evil Ball of Fur".

Although I realize this surely dates me: #1 - John Scarne.
According to Wikipedia, "Scarne was often proclaimed by experts, magicians and editors of the time to be the greatest card manipulator of all time." My personal #2 would then be Richard Turner.

Shouldn’t Neil Foster be up there in terms of card manipulation? I assume it refers to classical manipulation.

Yes, that's the question. What does the OP specifically mean by card manipulator?
Someone who does the traditional split fans and other lovely flourishes? Someone who does gambling sleight of hand? Someone who does card magic sleight of hand? Someone who does card magic? All, some, none of the above?
