Craig is a marketing genius and a big WWE fan. He knows that by setting up a beef/grudge he will draw the crowds, just like Ric Flair vs Mick Foley. The crowd then fuels the conflict and creates the groundswell.

Hats off to you Craig.

You can take a look at Real Secrets Volume 1, which is being added to the Archive: https://www.conjuringarchive.com/list/book/3006

Mike

These must have just been added as they weren’t there a couple of days ago! Looks like the ‘secret’ nature of Real Secrets has an expiry date.

Craig, you might be able to check that via Wayback Machine (the Internet archive)

Adding stuff to the Conjuring Archive now is a sad attempt to make it look like Craig had the opportunity/ability to the research the history of this trick. When the reality is, it's only being added now. Luckily, as Beyonce knows all too well... the internet never forgets.

If you check the home page of Conjuring Archive, it tells you the exact date they added it.

Seeing the Streisand Effect unfold in real time really is a sight to behold.

Wowwww, slam dunk. Well done, this is a heck of an exposé and speaks volumes about Craig's accusers.

And Weber didn't just lie and discuss himself in third person. He used it most frequently as a deceptive marketing tactic to sell more of his products directly, and other times as a way to sell indirectly by building up his persona in the public's eye. Because he had a raving fan screen-named "newguy" who could assure you that he loved Weber's material because he owned it and vouched for it. But this fan didn't exist. These were ALL FAKE testimonials.

It's more than lying.

I've promptly, and scathingly, unsubscribed from all psience.mail@gmail.com emails. I encourage others to do the same. Anyone defending Weber's tactics (the shilling AND the bullying) should be ashamed of themselves. This "legend" created himself from whole cloth over the last two decades.

I mean, FFS...

I like to give people the benefit of the doubt and I may be wrong, but I believe Mike/tenchu was just saying that he was in the process of adding Real Secrets to the archive, which I can confirm through refreshing the page he linked (individual entries were being added over the past hour or so). I don't believe he was saying that the references previously existed. As we've seen, that's already been disproven.

Perhaps he can chime in to clear up any confusion.

I’ve no skin in the game, but I find this all a little odd.

I reviewed one of Craig Petty’s effects in the past and was brutally honest - no one can ever accuse me of being bias. What I have witnessed in the last two days has been unlike anything I have ever witnessed in all my time in this “community”.

I would have no issue with Web”b”er posting under a pseudonym if he wasn’t using that handle to promote his own products, elevate his position in the community and literally claim that he is a purchaser of the article that contained the “age card receipts”. When he himself has to come onto a thread pretending to be someone else and make that claim, it tells you (almost) everything you need to know about the situation. Real purchasers/ readers or members of that society should be doing that, if it is as the pair claim publicly available over a span of years released multiple times. Where are these posters?

I browsed “Conjuring Archive” yesterday to do my own research and there was no mention of the article posted above. For it to appear out of the blue today, is strange indeed, I can only assume that it is so the new audience that stumble across this “controversy” assume that Craig didn’t properly do his research. It’s an underhanded tactic and shows the lengths that Michael will go to, to “win”. I seriously think that moves like this don’t make him and Trono look very good. Trono was fired from a previous government position for such behaviour and the old adage “A leopard doesn’t change its spots” springs to mind.

I can assure you that none of these gentlemen were the first to use receipts with the age card principle, I saw Scott Dressburg doing it in the 90’s - but it was never public knowledge/ sent to more than a handful of us - does that mean that Michael and Tim are also thieves and they should redact the digital copies of the Genie and apologise? I’ll wager that never happens or they will claim that they never saw it and it wasn’t publicly available and they’ve made significant advancements.

If there is (as Craig claims) six hours of footage here from all those “names” then maybe there is something truly original on there. Let’s wait until we have the evidence.

On a final note, if Mac turned out to be Trono (which wouldn’t surprise me) that would be icing on the cake.

David.

I didn’t think calling you Tim Trono would be that offensive, he’s not that bad.

If I hurt your feelings I’m sorry,

This is exactly the problem with over-policing. The community as a whole loses out on important, incremental developments. Those responsible do so for the protection and furthering of their own careers, egos and self-interest. Everybody else loses out. If people like Newguy and his attack dogs were responsible for policing scientific developments, we'd all be dead by now.

Maybe so. But I think it speaks volumes that this is what Tim Trono and Newguy (Weber) are spending their time doing right now. Instead of working on ways to apologise to Craig. And more importantly apologies for the fact (as Seth speaks just said) that he's lied to everyone here for nearly twenty years; endorsing himself, deceptive marketing tactics, building up his persona in the public's eye and so on.

Shame on him.

I completely agree. I've definitely seen some lows within the magic community over the years, but this is just sad. Hoping the situation gets cleared up amicably. Unfortunately, I don't see that happening.

Wow, lots of heated debate.

I was a member of Real Secrets. I enjoyed it like no doubt hundreds of others (I do not know what the total subscriber base was). I get a kick out of the fact that I chose to pay for a magic subscription service and that somehow makes me part of a "clique" Smile. Anyone that wanted to purchase the subscription could. Each month I received a physical prop and the instructions and sometimes some bonuses. As pointed out the Matrix Receipts was included in Genii with the props and also was one of the Real Secrets releases to the subscribers. A separate Real Secrets release was Age Receipts using receipts and the binary method. As noted the receipts were marked on the back with a clever organic looking marking system. This was a real product with props supplied that I paid for with my subscription to Real Secrets. There has been references to this not being an actual product and only referenced in a secret document. Not true, myself and what I assume are many others received the product.

I have no horse in this race. Craig's release sounds like something I would like despite owning the Real Secrets version and if Michael and Tim release an updated version would be interested in that as well. These types of heated public debates never end well and we have witnessed that a number of times here. I do not know Tim or Michael personally. I have attended a workshop and a couple of lectures with Michael and found hime to be very personable and not the ego maniac he is being portrayed as here. Same with Tim, have had a few nice email exchanges with him in the past and have heard friends speak highly of him.

I also do not know Craig. I do occasionally watch and enjoy his videos and have particularly enjoyed how he has involved his son. Brings back nice memories of doing magic with my son when he was young. Craig, I admire how you have owned up to the Red issue and do not question that had to be a hard time for you. You do mention that you are disappointed that neither Michael or Tim called you, and that is disappointing for sure. I also am a bit disappointed that you did not initially try calling Tim who you mentioned you had a friendly relationship with in the past. You explain how you have changed ( and I believe you) and taking the high road and reaching out directly before going public would have been a great example for all of us. Perhaps it would not have solved it but everyone knows how e-mail communication can quickly elevate versus a person to person conversation.

I don't really see anyone winning here and suspect cooler heads will prevail and it will be worked out between the parties. I hope so anyway. For reference have attached a picture of the two Real Secrets releases in question. Cheers,

John

Side note: I’ve seen this and it is beautiful. Stunning. I only wished I remembered the details. I just remembered being fooled and very impressed.

I beat you to the punch with the wording from the actual RS release. See earlier in the thread.

This whole thing has been engineered to create theatre and spectacle to draw the crowds imho.

Thanks for that clarification, John!

Regarding the listing on the Conjuring Archive: https://www.conjuringarchive.com/list/book/3006
There is no secrecy when content is added. I list it on the starting page, as has been cleverly worked out by some detectives on this forum by going onto the prominent main page. I don't need to list addition dates, but I do.

I've seen this thread and found that there seemed to be some confusion on what exactly was published back in 2012. Since I've been a Real Secrets subscriber for ten installments and still have those issues, with the online additions, I figured adding these references to the Archive will at least clear that part up. There is no agenda in this, I don't know Craig and had no idea about his planned release before being pointed to this remarkable... exchange of words over here, have not spoken with Michael Weber or anyone at all involved in this disagreement. No interpretation, no "backdating" (it's from 2012 after all). It's simply a listing of the content.

Then your timing is incredibly impeccable.

I will take you at your word though, it’s only fair. Are you going to update the archive to credit Scott? I personally received a two page document in 90’s handwritten - I still have it.

Will you reciprocate and take me at my word?

David.

Apologies for being spikey. I was over-excited because of all the drama on this thread. It's better than any pay-per-view!
