Ask Alexander is probably a more effective search archive then CA. One, it is Paid membership to gain access and provides the actual reference document.

I can't believe I read 27 pages of this...stuff. And I don't even really care, but at least you guys are entertaining, lol!

The implication of the above is that you have insight into the content of the emails.

If that's all simply based on Craigs commentary then you're right and you have no special insight and I've read the implication wrong.

But if that's so, then the above quote shows way too much confidence about the contents if all you've heard is some cherry picked quotes. That's all.

In no way, shape, or form did I imply to have inside information. That you inferred that is no fault other than your own.

In fact, I should thank you. In rewatching Craig's video I realize I have made a mistake. Weber did not compliment Craig but was in fact merely quoting one of Craig's endorsements.

See how easy it is to admit when you are wrong?

As I said in the quote, if I've read the implication wrong I'm wrong. Which I was. Glad you can see how I got the impression you had inside knowledge right?

"I have not read the emails, I am not personally involved in this any more so than you."

I still doubt that, though. Serioulsy, I can hold hand on heart at tell you I've never had so much as a passing conversation with anyone involved in this at all, ever, about anything. I think you're at least slightly more involved than *that*

That doesn't really narrow things down!

Turner, Jermay, M Johnson, D Johnson, Parker etc... Need to be more specific.

Parker would never bully a single soul.

All this fuss over a trick that is barley good enough to be included in kids magic set. Really?!

This is part of the problem. The trick isn't even out yet, so it's hard to make any informed judgment of it. But it was deemed worthy by Michael Murray, Peter Nardi, Simon Lipkin, Lloyd Barnes, Javier Fuenmayor, Mark Lemon and Peter Turner, all of whom contributed to it. But forget all of that, it's barley (sic) good enough to be included in a kids magic set? Really?

One of the dealers has full performances on youtube of it by Craig. I stand by my opinion.

I wonder why so many mentalists in the UK have tattoos?

I mean, who would have predicted that?

My understanding is that there’s only 8 different magic tricks. Guess when all the magic creators in this world get to the Pearly Gates they better be ready, because there is going to be 8 seriously p*ssed inventors waiting for them ….

It actually supports my pre-sale purchase because I am viewing the moments that come up during the example performances and considering what I would do or what I might say. I get to start working on the effect for myself before I even have it. Smile

This is no reflection on Craig as a performer, but I don’t get why an effect like this would get so much attention. It’s a bit of a “yawner” for me. And I don’t really care about the issue that’s causing all of the drama.

It can be dressed up with entertainment, humor, etc. and even combined with other effects too. I am looking forward to this with plenty of ideas to unleash. Smile

For me, it's the input from Michael Murray and 2 hour special with Pete Turner that sold it. Craig's presentation style is not for me either, but I don't purchase effects to mimic the routine. I'm looking for other ideas that fit with my style and I imagine I'll find what I'm looking for in the 6 hours of material.

Where was Real Secrets sold publicly and when? This is an honest question as I don't know the answer. Did you have to sign up through psience to get it?

It was sold publicly at the 2012 Blackpool Magic convention, where Weber did a lecture. I still have the flyer….

Long time lurker on here, but as someone that's read this entire thread, and also read another article published TODAY on another website of a writer that many in this forum detest, I find that it behooves me to post a point of clarification.

In said detestable writer's article, he lays out the facts of ALL sides of the situation. Craig, Murphy's Magic, and Weber/Trono are the character at play. Craig DID NOT directly correspond with Michael and Tim, as he gave it to Murphy's Magic to handle. After reading a summary of the emails exchanged between all parties, it seems as though this entire thread has gone down a tangent that has more or less been an incredibly HUGE misunderstanding and lapse in communication.

Michael and Tim DID release this trick MULTIPLE times, including in Real Secrets and in The Works (the latter of which I own), before Craig's trick was ever produced.

Michael and Tim DID get in contact to inform Craig (through a straightforward email, not through veiled threats) that the trick was NOT original and they asked that he not release it.

Craig passed it off to Murphy's. Murphy's does whatever spiel it does with Michael and Tim. The statement over RED that's raised such consternation was between Weber and MM, and when you actually look at it in that context, it can genuinely be interpreted as Weber not wanting the release to be seen as another example of Craig ignoring preceding work BECAUSE Weber doesn't want people to attack Craig. However, it can also be interpreted by Craig as a "threat", because Craig has made a lot of effort to fix his reputation in an otherwise ruthless industry and it makes sense that he wants to protect something he's worked hard for.

It seems as though this has just been an incredibly unfortunate chronology of events that's led to such a weird thread on magiccafe.

We should all be cognizant of how the internet can deprive us of empathy towards one another. Craig is probably a great guy. And you know what? Michael and Tim are probably cool to hang out with too. I hope calmer heads prevail and everyone can move on from this without anyone's reputation being tarnished in any way.
