As I've said many times, Craig is a marketing machine. The reason he posts the YT vids (vs. big updates here) is because it's part of his social media strategy, to attract views, likes and subscribers for his channel.
Off the back of that he can broadcast to more people and take fees from YT advertisers. The MW grudge is a marketers dream come true. |

Craig recently went over this in a video. He makes all of 600 bucks or something from YouTube.

I am attacked here for my opinion that Craig is exploiting the whole situation for marketing purposes. Now that we all know what it's about, it should be good now. But instead of leaving it at that, Craig is releasing another video on the subject. How long will Craig continue to chew on this topic? To make that clear again. I really like Craig and his Youtube channel, but eventually it's enough. Greetings from Germany!

Sorry, but I see it differently. These kinds of discussions about who invented what and who published it first have always existed and always will. Name any known magicians who have these discussions publicly like Craig on Youtube? Just name me one...

Not many known magicians have a YouTube channel with as much as a following as Craig… it’s only natural he will post on there IMO. Maybe there is some benefit for him by posting on there, but it’s hard to say that’s the only reason he does it.
As mentioned, with the amount of views Craig gets, he will not be making a lot of money at all. |

It's very convenient that Craig has not appeared here to express this same sentiment. Again, you can call me cynical but I remain very skeptical about Craig's intentions in all of this.

As an aside, I just spoke with Sudo and he just wanted to make sure everyone knows he's fine. Just trying to sort out technical stuff and hopefully will be on here soon. As most of you know, he's got one of the biggest hearts around and wanted to let everyone know.

Great news about Sudo.
Regarding the Weber Vs Petty issue: why don't we agree as a community that in future it is the responsibility of any creator who wants to have authorship of a method or effect respected to register said effect's publication with the Conjuring Archive? There could then be no argument over publication and "who came first". Failure to register with the CA would effectively your work is not recognised by the community. With such a diverse body of work across so many obscure publications, it is bordering on impossible for any creator to be aware of *every* significant precursor to any particular creation. Or we could just continue fighting like children... |
