Right, it sounds like we're back to those ad hominem attacks but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

Again, I don't want to be accused of deliberately misinterpreting you. How doe's one go about listing a series of facts without appearing authoritative? That's a genuine question, I'm trying to understand your point of view.

One person's ad hominem attack is another person's justifiable criticism of unethical behaviour.

You may notice that I have 'attacked' the ethics of both Potty and Wobbler on this thread.

You? Not so much.

Consultthemind1, thank you.

Is that the Swiss publication?

And a little clarification as to the procedure, is the distribution opposite to the traditional markings (reverse binary) or is it that the performer is looking at the discards, doing the math and then subtracting that from an overall total to determine the selection?

Looking through my notes, if you want to look at a translated version of the effect, there is an effect which is identical called "Digit Eyes" by Ken Schwabe in Syzygy. I don't have the book in front of me; I am certain the only difference in Ken Schwabe's version is that both piles are placed on the table and you could be adding and subtracting depending on which is the largest packet of the two. It adds another phase to the routine that need not exist.

David.

Also, Mac_Stone, for a moment your briefly posted from your “other” account. Smile Considering people like yourself are against exposure, this is becoming poetic. If at any point there’s any confusion as to who Mac_Stone is, check his post history and ask who is Weber/Newguys partner in all of this. You’re welcome.

Remind me again, what's my other account? Please be specific and stop with your vague accusations. If at any point there’s any confusion please do check my post history as I referred you to earlier.

You've caught me out. Indeed, I am Spartacus and Michael Weber and Tim Trono and Jimmy Hoffa and I've been secretly masquerading around The Café under a pseudonym while impersonating a teenager back in 2004.

You dropped your tinfoil hat by the way.

You really are an expert on all things Weber. Going out on a limb... you don't happen to write your own reviews too?

Hey Genius, The Mac and Mac_Stone are two different people. I shouldn't expect you to have an eye for details like that though.

You are littering the floor with your tinfoil hats.

Wow. No apology from Weber that he misled the entire Magiccafe community for years, referring to himself in the 3rd person, leaving fake reviews on his own products, attacks on others, misspelling his name and denying that he is Weber.

This goes way beyond simply using a pseudonym. The only fact here that Weber is scum.

Wow, day away and all new excitements!

No matter how much research is conducted on this “project” there was zero information available for Craig and Murphy to know any of what they developed had been previously published. This makes them in the right as they did their dual diligence to ensure they were not copying anything. That is why this discussion is so long. If a creator wants to protect when there have developed, then publish what you have develop so it can be located by anyone who can do research into their project. If you fail to do that, that sorry, but a new creator and produce their project without crediting anyone. Unless you own a US patent, or EU/UK equivalent, on a particular trick, this is fair game if you don’t properly make notice through proper publication. Publish to limited number of the community is not publishing in terms of academia, which is where I draw my comparison to publishing magic as patents are generally not sought by magicians.

Should Weber want to publish his version, I’ll review to see if I want to buy and then I will decide. Maybe I do, maybe he brings a different approach I might like better, and perhaps he doesn’t. I’ve picked up Transactions and will compare the two to see which I like better. As I’ve said before, it is not always about the props, but the instructional videos that I prefer. So, to Weber, convince me that your project is better then what Craig and Murphy has produce it you were in-fact going to publish yours this year and I will consider purchasing yours as well.

I bought Craig’s product because I like what I see what the fact that we are getting not just Craig, but 7 hours of some top magicians and mentalists currently performing. I have no clue what Weber had planned for his release, I would be curious if Weber would explain what his was going to have; i.e., 2 hour instructional from one person?

If I really wanted to put the wind up people, I'd post on my blog that I had a list of 20 prominent sockpuppet accounts that I might one day publish.

That should cause a few people to think twice.

Here are some receipts, these are real receipts, look at the receipts…pick an item on a receipt ummm, bring that receipt to the front of the receipts, now I’m going to take the receipt I just asked you to bring to the front and stare at the back of it for a bit, now find your item on other receipts, give me those receipts…
Spectator - “why?”,
Magician - “shhh, I’m counting”…
Ok now let me fumble awkwardly with this wallet for a minute while adding a few more ‘ummms’ and ‘would this be good’s’ and ‘this might not work’s’ then I’ll pull out a crumpled envelope and show you that I missed the number of receipts your thing is on by one.
Spectator - snnnnnnn,
Magician - are you snoring? Please wake up! I’m getting to the good bit.
OK let me put all of that paraphernalia away…would it be good if I could name your item? I can’t, but this would be weird, umm this might not work……….. (7-10 business days later)……you were thinking of Joan of Arc’s left earlobe! Hooray!!!!!!

And you’re telling me there’s over 6 hours of elaboration on this! I’m sold, take my money!

First, let me just say this: Wrayvn, I love you brother. You've always shown your support for me in subtle ways and it has never gone unnoticed.

@Michael Mann: You are obviously new around here and/or to the art. I have devoted my life to this art and have been involved in it for over 40 years. I've been a personal student of both Jeff McBride and Eugene Burger. I have done lectures. I have contributions published in major works. I have some of my work available for sale at Penguin under "Sudo". I have feely given away more of my work than I have ever sold. I am also known by quite a number of "names" in this art and by a good chunk of Café members, many of whom, I have spent lots of time in video chats with. I have been a brick and mortar dealer as well. Café staff members know me personally as do many members. I would not be able to post that if it weren't true. All of this is easily verifiable.

My identity is no secret to anyone here and never has been. I even have a photo of me attached to my profile. The fact is, I use "Sudo Nimh" as a username because I thought it to be a clever (and humorous) play on words. More importantly, it protects the secrets I have for sale and discussions I have here with fellow brothers should any member of the public do a google search with my real name. I don't have fake accounts to bolster my reputation or promote my own works. And I am certainly not Craig Petty.

You're barking up the wrong tree.

Was gonna message this to you Craig but thought public was better:

Saw your last post. Brother, PLEASE take care of yourself. I cannot imagine the level of stress you're experiencing. Debilitating at the least.

But your health isn't worth the crap, mental, physical, spiritual. And your son is watching. He's taking his cues on how to handle all this from you.

You've shown tremendous grace, now show grace to yourself. You know who you are. You're not what anyone else thinks of you. Including people on the Café, including me, including people who only touch your life with comments online somewhere.

Remember who you are and what you've contributed, then remind yourself, what others think of you isn't your business.

That "should" eliminate half the stress right there. You have nothing to prove anymore. Your detractors know it and don't care, your supporters know it and do. There is nothing you can ever say to appease the former, and you already have the love, support and understanding of the latter.

Full disclosure: I also wish well on Weber and Trono. Honestly. They've always been good to me. There's information none of us are privy to in any situation. I just know we all make mistakes and my sins may not be as public, but I in no way can cast the first stone.

I'm praying for you and them both.

Just continue being you. No one else can, nor do they have the work ethic to do it.

But give yourself grace. And let go of the people and comments who won't. Drop that weight, then either take some melatonin or pop on some vhs of Darwin's card magic lectures and you'll finally get the sleep restful you deserve. (I mean, his work is exceptional, the delivery is just a tad dry, not trying to hate Smile )

Amen.

What a wonderful post, Nathan. You always have a way of inspiring me to be a better human.

Back to Sudo. Sudo is beloved on this forum for good reason. He is one of the more approachable creators who does the right things, even if it seems to cost him personally. He is an all round good guy.

This is a great tool. However unable to see a buy option for the 2017 The Works or Journals as www.psience.org no longer exists. Guess ill have to watch for items on auction sites unless there is a new link.

I have Prism but will check out the references you named. I would suggest others to take a Engineering course in Logic if they really want to understand the power of binary.

Thanks for sharing and explaining your side. Your response was very humble to Scott and explained your effort on the subject. Having used Tyvek, a receipt creator, and publishing in 2017 (not just on RS or a genie freebie) definitely changes my view. I jumped to some conclusions without knowing all the details. I am leaning to the Weber side on this one.

I do think Craigs team put in some effort to extend the routines. In retrospect, I should have held off and stayed nuetral. However, I already pre-ordered, and look forward to what they have to present. I also look forward to finding the reference material you mentioned.

They have an email you can contact them. I would avoid ebay since some people lose part of their kits and you can’t replace them if you buy them second hand.
