There's a nice card trick over the phone by Paul Cummins in Peter Duffie's e-book "Virtual Miracles"

Oh and Michael Webber's Lifesavers has an over the phone mental routine where you go through a huge whole load of psycological forces and then fax them a prediction.

Just my input on Mr. Brummett's "Mind Fusion" It Kills. He got me and every other magician in the room when he did it for us. Probably the best that I have seen. I would recommend getting it when it comes out.

Good Luck Joey.

Cheers

Contimental has a couple of small flaws that can bite one badly, so be careful about how you present it. Monaco, forinstance, is NOT represented in the routine and I havehad it come up enough times to where I no longer do the routine.

The second big problem with Contimental has nothing to do with the trick itself - it has to do with the audience. Americans are notoriously poor at geography. One lady guessed Brazil when I did the routine for her and another guessed "Paris." And I work a lot for college audiences and professional groups, so it's not like I'm working for the uneducated and unwashed...

Get the idea? The fix would be to give the person a list of countries, but that kills the impromptu nature of the effect.

But when it works - it KILLS!

There was a discussion a year or so back (actually more of a tutorial) on how to create a Contimental-style "tree" for ANY group of words.

As long as you have an all-inclusive list with a limited number of responses, you can create the appropriate "order". Naturally, the fewer choices, the fewer steps in the process.

I'm sure one could easily incorporate "Monaco" into the existing list with little trouble.

I've seen one published somewhere using birthstones, but cannot remember where. Is that maybe the "project" that was done here? It's been a while back...

The big problem with contimental for me (as a european) is that it does not include a lot of european countries...

A cell phone is an easy way to wire a room by connecting it with an assistant's phone and hiding it. They get all the info and can then call with a prediction.

Similar to the old Al Baker thing with a wood block under the receiver as far as presentation and what the cell enables you to do.
