Hello all,

I was looking through some old Magigram magazines from 1969 and saw the advert for the aforementioned gimmick and wondered if anyone could point me in the direction for more information please?

I know it was released by Supreme, courtesy of Werry and that it is not the same method as Marconick's, but I'm interested in the fact that it does not have to be used as an 'opener' and also it can be used to produce 3 silks, which is exactly what I require.

Any details gratefully received!

Many thanks,
Alan

Berland's silk appear I would not use to produce three silks. I have all the Berland dirctions and rights to make them. The silk appear is basically for one silk. To appear more you will have to steal more gimmicks. Think of handling a hank ball.
I would use a hank box or hank ball on a loop (as it was originally done) to produce more than one silk.

Thanks for the reply Richard.

I've used the the Berland silk appear and still have it lying round in a cupboard somewhere.

This is the Bertuh (a German magician) multiple silk appearance, that Werry released through Supreme about 50 years ago.

I am travelling so away from my library. But I believe Bertuh's gimmick was detailed in one of the volumes of Adair's Encyclopedia of Dove Magic. I can check this weekend when I get back.

Thanks for the reply Frank.

I don't have the Adair books, as I don't work with doves, but if it is in there it would suggest it is the same method that I thought it might be and have tried with limited success.

If you do find it, I'd like to ask you a question, without exposing the method, obviously!

The Adair dove books are great. They contain a lot of material for dove routines which can be used in other ways, including silk magic. As an example, it gives the proper way to roll a silk for the rose-to-silk gimmick.

Flash Silks At Fingertips is in Volume 2 on pages 70 to 72. I will PM you.

Thanks again Frank.

That was a great help.
