I haven't ordered the DVD yet, but I met Fielding West in Vegas a year or two ago. He is a wealth of knowledge and very sincere. this is on my "must have" list.

I went to the L&L site to check if they are actually shipping. Thought I might see something in the forum, but I couldn't find the forum - did they give up? There's a blog, but it didn't have much of interest.

I may be wrong, but I can never recall the DVDs on the front of an L&L catalog actually shipping when the catalog was received. I've heard a lot about Fielding and am looking forward to the issuance. I am a little concerned about how much he's tipping - nothing on one disk and the other has several "Performance Only" items.

We'll see.....

I just ordered from Hocus Pocus (better price than L&L) and they said they were in stock. Have heard nothing but great things about his show and am looking forward to it mainly as a performance video.

I have reviewed mine, he was not as funny as I thought he would of been, but do to the fact that I have seen his act more then once could have something to do with it. But there is a lot of useful practical stuff,

I saw him in Vegas when he opened for Lance at the Hacienda. I hung out with him after the show and he was really a nice guy and was very funny during the show. His tiger production is amazing. I haven't seen the dvd's yet but I can attest that his live show was really funny.

I just finished watching the first disc, which is mainly the performance along with interview, bonus effects and slide show. My first impression is, well, it's kind of okay. Show is funny, but not the funniest (Hobson or Mac King). Magic is pretty strong, but not superb.

Disc 1 okay, but definitely not a "must-have".

By the way it comes as a two-disc single unit, so it can't be purchased separately.

I may post more after I get a chance to watch Disc 2.

What is the reverse balloon swallow? That is really the only effect I was interested in.

I finished watching Disc Two (Explanations) and I must say I enjoyed it a lot. For the most part he offers his twists on standard plots. Some are definitely improvements: Water in Newspaper, Vanishing Coke Bottle and Balloon Swallowing (because of the reverse). Others are just minor variations: Color-Changing Silks, Bill Switch, T&R Newspaper.

His explanations are very detailed. He also offers up the motivations and historical development of the routines. In several cases Fielding gives alternative endings or handlings to the routines.

There is some very good magic within this disc set.

Does he tip the tiger production?

To answer a few questions:

1) Yes he does tip the tiger production

2) The reverse balloon swallowing is a way to pull a fully inflated balloon back out of your mouth after you have just swallowed it.

The DVD has good material...nothing earth shattering...just material that is very usable in the real world for real people. Mr. West Opens for Lance Burton...he must be doing something right!

I hope this info. helps,
