I'm thinking of adding the 5 & 1 transpo to my repertoire, it's an effect I've always stayed away from in the past especially now as here in the UK our notes are different colours, different sizes and made of polymer.

As I'm going to have to use US Dollars this means I need the bills to be examined at the beginning of the effect so is there a variation of this effect that meets my requirements ?

Wow I was surprised that nobody responded to this thread given all the amazing American magicians we have here on the Café.

Anyway as an update I went with Atomic Bills by John T Sheets, for anyone interested this is a great method which allows for bills to be examined both at the start and end of the effect if needed.......highly recommended Smile

If you like Atomic Bills you should check out his Cool Cash dvd: https://www.penguinmagic.com/p/S21532

There is an effect on there that looks so clean and lives in my wallet. Not examinable but very clean looking.

This is also a good version. Well taught and very clean.

I have the Cool Cash download which is where I learned Atomic Bills....unfortunately I have to be in a situation to hand the bills out if needed as it's not my natural currency.

This probably doesn't fit your criteria, Warren, but the one I do is John Scarne's from Tarbell 3. You provide the $1, your spectator provides the $5. It is not examinable strictly speaking --- but no one has ever asked to look at my $1.

Ryan Plunkett has a really nice version in his book Distilled. I made up a $1 gimmick for a $2,$5,10, & $20. Carry it in my wallet every day.

The “Atomic Bills” effect does allow you to hand out both bills, as the bills are NOT gimmicked. You may borrow the bills, and they don’t have to necessarily be a 1 & 5, but could be any denomination, like a $20 or $100 bill.

Hope this helps!!

Never heard of this DVD, but ordered it on the advice of this thread. Love the Cool Cash transpo! It is amazingly clean looking, despite being not clean at all. I made the gimmick as described, and then made a second with the leftover materials, basically on the opposite end. Literally getting more bang for my buck! As a lefty, this actually handles easier. That is a rarity in effects but one I gladly take on.

I understand the OP wishing to have the bills inspected. But as described in the routine, there really is no need to have them inspected as the bills are shown to be extremely clean at the start and finish. But either way, glad you did find a version you like and will work. And thank you all for the advice of this DVD!

And when Spudster says extremely clean, he's not lying, it is EXTREMELY EXTREMELY clean when being shown!

Thanks Kalix, I went ahead and ordered that. I love the idea of adding and removing something and ending cleanly.
W/ Greg Wilson on it, you can't go wrong as well.
