With this there’s no need to manipulate/touch the card in any real way. Aside from it being placed in the case. And multiple/delayed p33ks are easy and motivated without it being potentially suspicious. Being a card case also helps, and would be natural to have out on a table.

Thanks for all the positive feedback folks. I've been using just a business card stack for years with a rubberband around them. The disadvantages were a few - a returned written on card would sometimes snag on the way back because just the middle was cut out of the gaffs, leaving inside edges at the bottom. The second negative was, I couldn't flash the back or handle the stack as naturally as I wanted to, and lastly, it just didn't look professional - who carries their business cards in a loose pile, or wrapped with a rubber band.
Then awhile back I started with a wallet that folded along the short way of the card. This was awesome because now I could fold the flap over and handle the case with confidence. One day while searching for something on Amazon, I ran across these wallets. I tried one and really like the handling better than the one I was using. It feels easier, and even more natural with the flap going the long way. I think the "names" in magic sometimes engineer a product around an idea just for a dollar. To me, this is one of those really cool ideas that someone could manufacture a custom wallet with a perfect machine cut and stitched back, and sell it for $40-$50 in a fancy package. I decided whay not just share it and let folks make their own for $6 and 10 minutes of easy craft, where the cosmetics of the back will never be seen anyway. In my opinion, if you use a business card for someone to write information on, there isn't a more logical, practical, easier, fair, or less expensive way to p*** that information than this type of wallet. And I thought it would be fun to just share it. |

Eddie,
Do you have any tips on retrieving the card from the stack to give it out as a souvenir? Thanks again.

With the case held flat in your palm, index finger on top, other 3 fingers on the side and your thumb on the other side - open the case with your other hand. As you are folding the flap over your index finger, the index finger slides behind the case, enters the gaff and pushes the written on card up, an eighth of an inch or so. This is just like the ole rising card from behind but your index finger goes in just for a split second to move the card up a tad, and you quickly remove the index finger while you fold the flap all the way around to cover the back.
You can partially cover the top with the hand turning over the flap. All this sounds like work, but you'll see how natural and easy it is once you've done it a few times. Now you can hold the case very casually while appearing to reach in and grab a bunch of cards from the middle. You actually only need to grab their card (which is easy, it's stick up a tad), but in that moment the top of the case is facing you as you mimick shaking the case a little to get a few cards. You can even let the cards out half way if you have a normal card still on the face. You can show the back of the case again, which is cool, because it's covered with the flap. It looks like you're finding the card with their writing. Simply pull it out and hand it to them, turn the case back over, close it up and put it away. Again, this probably sounds a bit confusing, but handle it a few times and you'll develope a natural way to do it, if you feel the need to give them the card. |

Also, I think one of the most important lessons I learned in magic 34 years ago was - "Don't run if you're not being chased"
I feel completely safe, confident, and relaxed, handling this wallet freely, and even placing it on the table. But for you over sellers out there
These wallets are so cheap, you can have a second ungimmicked one avaiable to switch in casually somewhere and just lay it out in the open, |

Hi Eddie,
Thanks a lot for sharing - I can definitely see this working. I love the fact that the spec can push their card in the middle of the pack themselves. I will order and build. There is real satisfaction in performing with props you have created yourself. Again thanks a lot. All the best Jan |

I'm glad Paul asked about giving the card back. I was just about to put an idea I had about an easy way to get it: On the loose cards that you give out to have something written on, make an edge mark on the short end that later will be facing upwards in the stack. Now you can easily spot it and be able to pull it out by separating some of the cards.

Yes, it is possible to give the cards back by the way described in some of the posts.
However, I've among many always thought it seems odd - both that you need to get the card inserted in the stack/wallet in the first place and afterward to hand it back. Let alone writing anything down at all when mind reading - but that we must overcome . As for getting the card inserted etc. the great Lewis Le Val sorted that one out by saying something like:
"I'm collecting spectators' thoughts/daydreams/memories and keeping them as souvenirs. So, please write/draw something that comes to mind and I will keep that in my wallet until I get back home. On the other hand, I will make you a souvenir that you can keep as a memory of what we are about to do here (And that will be the picture/word that you are drawing/writing on your business card when doing the mind reading). Just as an alternative. Jan |

I also think that the writing down the thought also falls under the umbrella of "Don't run if you're not being chased" In 30 years of performing a routine where I needed a thought written down, I can count on one hand where someone has questioned the motive for that. I'm sure it's part of presentation also. If I feel the specific situation needs justification, there are easy ways about it. I've prefaced the request by saying something like - "just so you don't mess with me", or, "so everyone can confim this later", or, "so we don't forget" - and there are certainly other reasons to have thoughts written down. Then of course - we have to put that information in a safe and fair place. In my opinion, there is not a more safe, fair, or logical place than the middle of the stack of cards where it came from. |

Hi everyone,
I am a newcomer. But I guess it is just the right time. I am a hobbyist, so I am not as experienced as many of you here. I have been using my SAW for a few years and it is just great. But I am also interested in new methods as well. And threadman77 offered such a simple but very bold and effective method here. I want to thank him for being so generous to share this here. I will definitely try it out as soon as I can. |

Here's an idea for those that do run when they're not being chased... by that I mean those that always worry about everything that could happen. This is how it would go: You take out your business card wallet. hand it to them. Have them open it and up and take out any card. You then take back the wallet and hand them a pen. Tell them to draw or write something as you turn around. They do. You turn back around and open up the wallet and have them shove their card into the middle of your cards. You still can get a p***.
How? Well, I realized the website supplied has you getting two wallets for a cheap price. So fix up one wallet via the instructions, but the one you hand him in the beginning is not fixed up and just normal. You get it back then switch wallets while your back is turned and can now get the peek. Obviously, I wouldn't go through the trouble, but I know some always worry about stuff like that.

That's actually a pretty good idea. I had suggested having a second wallet to switch in after the effect for those "running"
But just handing them the wallet and letting them remove any card is a sure fire way of telling them it's just a normal business card wallet, and there is no funny stuff involved. |
