Dr. Rubinstein has done it again with another showpiece routine in the style that David Roth made famous over 40 years ago. The Sun, Earth and Moon is a modular, multi-phase routine that is perfect (and adaptable) for parlor, table hopping and formal close up (sitting at a table). With time and effort, the average coin magician can definitely perform this routine. One of the great features is that you receive everything you need to perform the routine, no longer do you have to scour ebay for obscure props, trying to match up your coin gaffes, etc. You receive it all to perform in a variety of environments, coupled with top notch video instructions. Plus, if you get stuck on something, send Mike a note and he will get back to you with a solution(s). You can’t go wrong with this and its highly recommended.

I received Dr Michael Rubinstein's S.E.M in the UK at the original reduced price. With international delivery, this was an expensive purchase and I did hesitate before ordering. Not just because of the price but because I generally avoid carrying coin magic props beyond a small purse. The joy of coin magic for me is the simplicity and lightweight materials required, and the ease of portability (ie, in one's pockets). However, I am very pleased with what I received. S.E.M is beautifully crafted. It is highly portable and easy to use in different environments.

The coins (including gimmicked coins) are top-notch quality. The [ has perfect coverage. This set is on a par with coins I have from the late, great Todd Lassen. I can see myself using these coins in other routines. This set of coins is unique and gorgeous. The quality is amazing for a gimmicked set. It leaves me wondering why other gimmick makers cannot come close to producing this quality.

Michael has produced a wonderful effect. It is a very well-thought out routine and the video instruction (at nearly an hour-and-a-half) is everything I have come to expect from Michael, including some wonderful close-ups from the magician's view. His instruction pays attention to the smallest detail and to alternatives where one might want to handle things another way. I have purchased from Michael in the past and even before I did, he has always been helpful with email answers and support.

I could go on at length but I now see that Rick Holcombe's video explains this far better than I ever will. It is an excellent example of how one can tailor and develop one's own routines with this delightful set of props. It's not cheap but for any serious coin worker S.E.M is well worth the investment.
