Hi Paul,
Up in smoke has been a favourite video of mine for a while and I see it is now available on DVD. Have you been working on any other routines and ideas involving coin magic? Are we likely to see another tuitional on the subject i.e "Up In Smoke Vol II"? Do you have a favourite coin trick that you like to perform and/or see performed? Thanks for your inspiration, I regularly use the invisible hand as part of my coin flurry. Best Chris |

Hi Chris,
Thanks for the kind words. Yes, Up In Smoke is now available on DVD (and a fine job of it, I think, by Jeff Pierce of Orlando, FL). I learned Harvey Rosenthal's grip from Bob Elliot in NYC about 30 years ago and started to apply finger and audience management to get into and out of the clip as cleanly as possible, the results of which are on the DVD. There are no plans for a UIS II DVD. My favorite coin routines to perform, and the ones I do most often for the laity are "The Invisible Hand," "Top Billing," and "Underhanded Coins Across". I also love a good (simple and uncluttered) 3-Fly, and just about any coin trick performed by Chad Long or Mike Gallo. The Gallo book, by the way, will be awesome! Paul |

Paul.
Thanks for the kind words. The material on this DVD is top notch, with my favorites being "Top Billing" and the bonus collectors card effect. Jeff Pierce

I am happy to hear that you decided to put this on DVD. I hope you can reach many more coin workers with it. Will you be putting any online video demos of the DVD? This video is strictly walkaround coin material isn't it? If so, I am sold already.
Take care Paul! Brian Proctor |

Hi Brian,
There are seven routines on the DVD. Four of them are limited in their performance to standaround or strolling magic - but, I think, they are VERY strong effects. Two of the routines are table-top routines, one of which I have used for 25 years and still do; the other is one I really only perform for magicians. The last routine is a Collectors routine with cards that I do nightly. I will probably not put any video demo's out on the web. Paul |

Greetings Paul,
Any particular reason you don't plan on posting a video demo on the web? Thanks - Mitch |

Well, Jeff Pierce who authored the DVD from the VHS tape files did create a nice advertisement for me that I've not done anything with. I'm not sure how to post it where, but I'll see if I can get it on my website somewhere for you guys.

Buy this video. I'm a card kind-of-guy, but this made me break out the half-dollars. And to see Paul do this stuff in person is almost a religious experience.
First rate all the way and highly recommended. Matt Field |

I saw Paul do several items from it in person and they blew me away. |

Hi Paul
Just want to thank you for your quick response by email to my questions regarding the effects in the 'Up in Smoke' dvd, which I ordered from you, along with fasdiu 11. My package arrived within a few days, the material is great and it was a pleasure to deal with you! Can't wait for your next project! Thanks again, Paul Peter Teagle - England

Hi Paul,
:spinningcoin: The Video Rocks...I incorporate the invisible hand into a single coin routine that I do. Always leaves the audience with a nice sense of " What the !*%? " Now paul look into the spinning coin and repeat after me "I will give up all my other coin secrets on UIS II which I am just off to record now " Okay so I'm not so good on the whole hypnotism thing... but I can hope can't I? For those of you who have yet to buy this DVD/ Video and are looking for some great coin routins...buy it...you won't regret it. Chris |

Why do have this sudden urge to tape a UIS II? :) Paul |

Hi Paul,
Alas I am addicted to learning coin stuff and it is rare that coin magic tapes come out which have several useable routines on them. Your "up in smoke" video has some great stuff on it, I like your routining and thinking. If you produced another I am assuming it would also meet this criterea and that would be a good addition to the collection. Basically just trying to encourage more "coin guy's" out of the wood work I guess. We do have the privialge of having Curtis Kam, Mike Gallo, Reed McClintock, Michael Rubintein, David Neighbours, Johnathan Townsend, Mickey Silver, Geoff Latta etc offering advice here on the forums and occasionally offering their latest gems of coin magic. I guess if the UIS II video isn't in the pipeline the odd perl of wisdom in the "Show me the money" forum would be equally as welcome. Thank you for sparing the time to answer the questions here on the Café. Hope to see you on a regular basis on the site. Chris |
