Hello guys Smile

I’m really happy to share with you my latest creation, called MONU!

This is my take on the classic ESP jazz trick which is a trick I’ve been doing an awful lot but I was never happy with the cards. So I adapted a world famous boardgame, with all the things that allow the trick to work (and even a bonus) as well as a very good protective varnish so they will hold up wear and tear very well. They have been made in France so they will last a long time!

I will happily answer all your questions, so feel free to ask Smile

They are available through Murphy’s so your local Magic Shop should have it or you can send me a PM, I have a few sets available.

Thanks again for your interest!

I understand it might be for trademark reasons, but how do you justify it looking exactly like Uno cards but they say Ono?

Must be the foreign name for Uno. Unfortunately using cards that say Ono here in the US will be somewhat suspicious since I have not found a game called Ono here in the US where the cards look like Uno cards.

In my opinion, the name "Ono" is excellent and highly suitable, particularly because it effectively embodies the concept of authenticity. In the context of the UK market, if there were to be any imitation or inferior versions, "Ono" would undeniably meet the criteria of being a good choice Smile

Agree, Ono is definitely not a good name if performing here in the US. Of course you can always say you bought these when you were overseas, etc. But there would be much less suspicion if they were just called Uno if used here in the US.

Is ONO an existing game in the states?

Is it this?

So the only thing here is he supplying regular Uno cards doing a routine that’s been in publication for years? Am I missing something?

The cards have been specially designed (symetrical, compared to regular uno cards that aren’t) and printed, they hide of course the main secret as well as a bonus thing that will allow you to perform an extra phase Smile I really wanted good quality card with a proper varnish (coating) so that you would use them wherever you want.

For the « ONO » name, of course, for trademark reasons, I couldn’t not just replicate the UNO design. As mentionned, an ONO 99 game exists which is enough to tell them to check online if you want to. But the way I introduce them is that I bought a set of UNO card from Wish and I show the faces. For now, everything is fine, but I tell them that my reaction was the same as the name of the set of cards I received: « Oh no! » (ONO). You could also introduce them as the set of cards from another country (in France, we make fun out of Belgium because people think they are simple minded, well, in our jokes, we make fun of them). So maybe you could say this is a set of cards made in another state you’re making fun of, and people will laugh and accept the cards, even though they haven’t seen them before. It might sounds weird but after doing this an awful lot, they never never question the cards because I introduce them on a funny note.

Here in the states anybody I know doesn't know ONO but does know UNO.

Just say they are cards from your kids. The grandparents got them games for Christmas. Or you bought the cards on a trip at a gas station. Uno. Ono. Knockoffs. It’s okay. Smile

I think we should put an end to the NAME game controversy. Smile Smile The props (cards) are already printed and the effect is on sale. Probably not much can be done now, so it will be nice if we move on and talk about the effect.

Is this any different from other versions of this plot? Other than uno cards? Ben Seidman has a version using tarot cards for example

I just want the accent. Being from MN, mine sucks Smile

But with a French accent like that, I'd rule the world. At least my world.
