Hi all,
I have been working now for quite some time on Pavels super walking knot and wanted to know what types of music some of you have used with this effect in the past. Also, how many times do you move the knot? Etc...ie, now that I know the "move" and have got it to a point that it looks good, I'm working on routining this thing to be effective for an audience. Any thoughts?

A Souza March?
A drum roll? A slide whistle?

Lol...no wonder you have 2600+ posts
So you usually patter while doing it, as opposed to doing the thing to music?

Magic Grandpa here:
Just about anything upbeat is okay, but don't make us grown ups suffer by playing that rap noise. I'd rather hear fingers scraped on a chalkboard. My grand-daughter tried playing that stuff in my house once, and I tossed her CD player out the window.
I'm old as dirt; that's why there's no picture of me.

LOL - rap is fine too (but not for this show)
No I definitely will be using something upbeat (I *think* I'll use the mission impossible theme but still debating). I really want to sell the sliding knot bit, so I like the idea of a drumroll (and I have the super walking knot so I could involve the audience...that being said, since this is my first time actually doing this for a large audience, I want to have it routined and scripted quite well to make sure nothing goes wrong!) I may also use the James Bond theme or something like that and play it up a bit... These are just my thoughts

Along that theme, how about Moby's Bond Theme, or something off 'The David Arnold James Bond Project - Shaken And Stirred' http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg......xqujldfe
hmm on second thoughts (after listening to the album again) perhaps not the album, the tracks tend to be slower, but the Moby certainly isn't. The Propellerheads track is good but at 9 minutes is probably to long.

What about peter gunn's theme?...the police's every little thing he does is magic or? or?...but with the music how would you involve the audience in terms of moving the knot to a spot

I've settled on using the Mission impossible theme...
Really seems to work for me.

The late great Topper Martin used to sing some songs from his latest CD that came out in 1947.
