Hey Guys,
I'm from Sydney, I have some brief experience with magic and a long term lurker here - one of my students was a brilliant stage magician and we spent two years working together, but he moved away - and I'm just finishing up in my industry. It's been an obsession since childhood and even though I'm from a different industry, the crossovers are astounding (I'm a Jiu Jitsu / MMA instructor and former UFC Coach). We actually managed to get our stage magician friend to a state Muay Thai champ level and we would spend a lot of time finding useful magic concepts to integrate with my athletes, with suprising success.

And now I'm bored and want to get into it, so where do I get started here?

All depends on what you like and want...boy, is that a great answer huh?

If brand new, I'd suggest the "New to Magic" Room...some good intro stuff there.

Otherwise start by browsing the various rooms to see what catches your interest...

Coins? Try "Nothing Up my Sleeve.." or ""Trick Coin Trickery"
Cards? Try "The Workers"
Illusions? Try "Grand Illusion"
Mentalism? Try "Penny for you Thoughts"

Once in a room, look around...and look back. There's a lot of great older threads with lots of information.

Start posting as well. Add to a converation, comment on somebody's post, offer advice...

There's some great folks here you'll meet and be able to ask questions and get help (or offer help). Also, after 50 posts you get access to other areas.
