Coming up this weekend in Houston, TX. Anyone else going?

Made it (for the first time) to the annual convention for the Texas Association of Magicians over Labor Day weekend. The convention was held in Houston, Texas. Had a great time. Actor/magician, Steve Valentine was so fantastic and (at my request) made a personalized 'So you want to be an actor, huh?' video for my son. My son FLIPPED OUT! He was so happy. He said, "Dad, that was the guy in 'Wizards of Waverly Place - The Movie'!" -- and I said, "Yes, son. That, and about 87 other things!"

Had a good time. Doug Conn gave a good lecture. Cool guy!

That's totally cool of him. Steve is amazing, both his lecture and performance were top notch. As was Chad Long and Doug Conn as you mentioned. And many others. It was really a great roster of talent.

One of my favorite parts, though? All you young-lings sitting around in the lobby, showing each other their Di@gonal Palm Shifts! I think that kind of stuff needs to fomented more at these events!

I kind of regret not introducing myself to someone's session. I'm returning to magic after 40 years away (so def not a young-ling). The lobby was abuzz with activity that's for sure. I do hope to get involved more with the Houston club.
