I love doing magic for a hobby, but I'd really like to make a career out of it. I just don't see much hope. I've tried to go with the advice of learning fewer tricks and learning them well, but now I'm wondering if it really has put me at a major disadvantage. It's kind of crazy to try to be a pro when you're only 18 years old anyway. Maybe when I'm old enough to have a long white beard like Eugene Burger , I can interest more people in watching my magic . . . if I didn't have such a boring personality to begin with, that would help. Magic puts a little spark in my life, but I'm afraid I don't spark it up very much.
So definitely "hobby" here . . .

Magic is more of a hobby for me doing a magic show every here and there but I'm going to try to turn it into at least a part time career when I'm older.

A serious hobby for Jimmy for many years.
It helps me to de-stress too.

But if I can earn a dollar or two by performing, why not? Extra cash can help me to get more tricks!

But in Singapore, a career in magic will get you nowhere to be frank.

You'll vanish more objects by 9:00 am than most people will all day.
More than a job, it's an adventure.

I perform magic for parties etc. but usually through contacts in family and friends. Although I get paid for these infrequent events I wouldn't say that it was anything more that a past-time.
