I have been asked to host the school Christmas show (yes it is early I know). My school friends know I am a magician and I don't think they would be interested in me doing a normal act. I am quite the joker so already have a list of one liners to use, as used by god knows how many comperes.
Can anyone name me a few tricks which are funny and out of the ordinary? I am already looking at the chicken sword. Like I said, my school friends won't be taking me seriously so I need something as weird as possible, yet short enough to do in between the other acts (musicians, dancers, etc.). The event is just something for us to look forward to on the last day of term, and has no seriousness in it what so ever. We often find teachers prancing around and everyone gets made a fool out of in one good way at least. So any one liners or effects to use would be welcome. Thanks! |

Clippo is a great on going running effect for an emcee. You can adapt the patter to your needs. It's easy, it's visual and it is entertaining.
If you are the emcee, make sure you know what everyone else on the show is doing and don't do anything during your time that is similar.

Pull a dead rabbit out of your hat. Look distraught and yell out, "Fluffy! No!" Do this right before an act you don't like.
I need more caffeine. Craig

Flec,
It's not too early to start preparing for a Christmas show if you have never done one before. It takes a while to decide what to do, develop routines, get the props, memorize the patter and/or prepare the music, and practice, practice, practice... Putting a quality show together takes time. Regan
