The opening of the video (white background) has a pretty egregious edit. Not saying this is a bad trick or whatever, but whoa, that edit is pushing things.

Hi Travis!

Thank you for your support!!

There is actually no cut or edit to that white background shot - that actually happened! There are methods for doing it to camera but that same method is done live to your spectators, just with a slightly different handling to that same method. To your audience it’s nearly identical. Most of the reactions you see in the trailer are from this optical rise visual penetration in person. It really looks that good in person when you shake the bottle! Hope this clears that up. Again - no edit. Something just happened live for camera that you can get away with for a live audience that just involves another equally deceptive method

-MJ.

My apologies! I was part of the edit rumor spreading. After watching the tutorial, I thought it must’ve been edited. Clever clever.

Purchased. It does not and cannot look as good as the first video in the promo. That would be real magic. It’s a non gimmicked penny and a non gimmicked bottle. It doesn’t really penetrate glass, so using that knowledge, and what has to happen, you can probably guess where the edit is, and yes there is an edit. That said, it could absolutely feel that good to a spectator and overall is pretty cool. I was using Justin Miller’s Shattered, which is my favorite coin bottle penetration, but I’m excited to take this one out for a spin. The melt moment makes this one the most visual coin in bottle so far.

Thank you LeoTheJet for your input!
But that wasn’t an edit! It’s just another handling of the optical rise basic method for camera (it’s the same in the opening shot except for one moment that’s just handled differently live) versus live for a spectator, which as you say - will feel also look that good to them!
-MJ

Ah, ok. If that is only for camera, then I can see how there wasn’t an edit. I stand corrected. However, that handling would never be used for an audience. Is that fair to say?

I went ahead and purchased this and I am very pleased. I will review tomorrow. The question as to whether or not the first performance can be done for an audience? I believe it can especially if you are good at working with coins. Just off the top of my head. I can think of 2 or 3 ways to make it work if you're doing this in front of an audience. This is well worth the price.

Good magic to all,

The visual of the coin rising up through the bottom of the glass is fantastic. Unfortunately, the clean up that is offered afterward leaves much to be desired.

Just got this. To all the questioners, doubters, etc., please chill out. This is outstanding and just about the best $20 bucks you can spend. Very fooling with lots of ways to do it. Kudos to Michael!!!

I personally find the clean up to be perfectly motivated...I think it'll fly past spectators. The choreography of the bottle display is such a nice way to show everything in a very fair manor. This is great!

Andrew I agree. I'm holding off with my full review until I've had a chance to perform this. I plan on doing this tomorrow and I will definitely post a full review then including reactions. I highly recommend this download. It is really well thought-out and I just need to put it into practice which I will do tomorrow.

Good magic to all,

Eric

For those who have this, does it have to be a beer bottle?

It should definitely be a clear bottle. He goes over some specifics on how to identify Modelo and Corona bottles that will work. That being said, it doesn't have to be a beer bottle, but you might need to experiment a bit to find one that would work

For people assuming that the first trailer performance can’t be done in real life, Penguin just posted a performance on their IG that shows the handling approach for this. I would argue that the effect, cleanliness and visual are very similar. And no, it isn’t as angly as you think.

In the Insta video a Coke bottle is used.
Please check regularly if you are becoming the type of magician Jerry Seinfeld jokes about. (This applies to mentalists as well.)

Thank you for your thought! I understand…luckily for you - this is not just limited to Pennies!! Many different types of coins will work, including US dimes, quarters, nickels, as well as UK & foreign coins, etc. It will just take a little experimenting on your part if you want to venture outside of what I teach & will depend on the state or country you reside in…but I explain all of these methods on the download!

For the visual to be seen, clear is best yes, but you could definitely use darker bottles if you want to, say, vanish a coin and have it appear inside the bottle. There are many things you can do and I like to think of this impossible souvenir bottle as a utility prop limited only by your imagination!

Greetings! No, absolutely not. It can be done with many different types of glass bottles including glass water bottles, glass coke bottles, glass non-alcoholic beverages of many kinds. Hope this helps!

While you wouldn’t be leaving your spectator with an “impossible souvenir”, I think combining the melting penetration effect with a folding coin could be a cool combination.

Watching the trailer, my first thought was that you could use the Captain and Coke gimmick to end clean.
