You know the connectors they use to hold illusions together? They look like hinges, but not connected, and then you drop a pin through them to connect them. I thought they were called "cotter pins", but that seems to be something else. I want to get some, but I'm not sure what to search for.

They are loose pin hinges. The hinge package will specify fixed pin or loose pin.

We always called them Blackstone pins and made them from a piece of coat hanger. The loose hinge pin type is what you want and the easier to remove.

I used loose pin hinges on all my equipment that could be disassembled. They were great on my tables. I did change the pins however from the ones that came with the hinges to pins like these which you can get in any hardware store. The "L" shaped pin makes it easy to add and remove.

I so love this part of The Cafe. I learn so much. Never knew about Loose Pin Hinges, but they make so much sense.
Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.
