Well you can say more - you can simply describe the effect. Borodin uses a glass to project the "light of a star" into wine.... A very good story and a very nice effect. I have bought a simple glass diamond - you can create very good effects with this diamond and a D´Lite.

Is anybody using the alternate colored D'Lites ?
I have now somehow managed to collect 5 of them, all red. I was thinking of modifying a couple to blue (I already have the necessary parts), because for some reason blue is not yet made, possibly because blue L**s are more expensive. But how many of you use the gold, green, or color changing D'Lites ? Any situations where the different color really came in handy ?

D Lite is the most sold magic trick in the entire world! It had payed my rent many many times. I always carry them to clubs and the ladies and bartender love them, lots of fringe benefits. I carry different sets with me everywhere, for the kids shows, I hope a child has those shows with the lights in them and pluck it out of his shows, plays VERY big. After the show I always ask feedback from the kids (as I am packing up) and "the red lights" comes up more than any other trick.
There are some green and "gold" ones that used to be available as well as some colour changing ones (green and red). If you want to make them change colour, take out the gimmick (if its the old model) and use paint or nail polish. I was at a club once and this stripper happened to be there and approached me to make her a set of pink ones. I did and she still uses hers to this day. I wont tell you how she utilizes them but I am sure you can think of it.. hehe.. Her name is MAGICAL MYSTY MAXX.. d lites rock.. |

The Blue D'lites are about to be available in the next couple of weeks as I understand it. I've already placed the order for our shop.

Guitar is my number one passion, but on the left hand ? It'd be hidden behind the neck for the most part, or possible overexposed as your th*** came over the top ?
I think it would be neater on the picking hand, actually, and your hand itself might block most of the view. I always wanted to do a guitar routine with flint flasher or smoke from fingertips - I used to play "Eruption" (Van Halen)in it's entirety in just about every band I've been in, that would be a killer closer just as I go into the finishing divebomb - bring up the picking hand and * foof * a flash of fire, or, as I'm playing have smoke start to billow out from the fretboard. (Little smoke ?) I believe there's a legend about Paginni the Italian violinist doing this - many thought he'd made a pact with the devil to play so fast. BTW- if anyone is curious what Eruption sounds like, I have a recording of me doing it live in 1996 up on my website at http://www.phrets.com/Eruption_cover.mp3 - not the greatest recording though, it was done on a cheap desktop cassette recorder sitting on the bar. Of course, nobody does it like Eddie !!

They're um.. blue
Nice and bright tho. I want a set. (Ya gotta have 2) It almost seems like the blue is positive or "good" energy, and the red is negative or "evil" energy .. well, from a bizarrist's standpoint anyway.

Sorry for bumping up an old thread but I thought it would be better than making a new one.
I have been thinking about geting a set of white or blue d'lites for a space themed show I'm working on. But I am worried that they will not fit properly. I tryed some a year or so ago but they looked really silly and obvious, I have skinny little hands. Does any body know if there is a way to make the effect look better on people with small hands? thanks, Electric Blue |

Try the junior D'Lites. They work for my daughter, who has small hands.

I have been toying with the idea of controling (possibly with a stooge) one of the ipod based systems that light up blue. It is very similar to the blue d'lite. My idea was to start the music using the d'lite...or maybe turn the music off....as the music goes off, the light in the sound system goes off, and immediately transfers to your hand....
any thoughts? |

There are so many lay people who know about the considering you can buy them at Walmart,Toys R Us,and KB Toys.So I consider them something fun to play around with more than a trick.

This routine is the STRONGEST D'lite routine I have ever encountered!
You have a lamp next to your close up table (or watever), and suddently it runs out of power. Then you can do the lamp gag that Joshua Jay does (in his cup chop routine) , before finding a clever solution to the problem. You take out the light bulb (that everyone by no know is broke) and vanish it, simply because you don't need it anymore (remember, your problem (the conflict) is that you need a way to make the lamp work again). Gathering light from different red/yellow/blue/green (depending on what colour your d'lite is) lightsources (these light sources may pass out after you take the light out of them, making the magic even stronger) having one different juggle wit h each one (gets more and more entertaining and impossible for each time) before putting them into your other empty hand (in this case you can only juggle with one hand), egg bag, or something else that is shown to be empty at the start and during the performance (Remember Darwin's law: "Make shure it doesn't take to much time between the point that they see it's an apple and to the point where they see it's an orange)) Then when the performer is satisfied that enough light is gathered, pause dramaticly for a moment (This is the climax after all)open you hand (or egg bag, or whatever) to reveal a light bulb. This brings a logical ending to the trick, and suddently everything makes sence. Screw the light bulb onto the lamp take the levetating ovation (it's that good!), and continue on with your show. This has been my pet routine, blockbuster and standing ovation-getter for over 0 minutes (I just came up with it), and I can ashure you it will help you as much as it will help me! Regards, Daniel
