I'm looking for the type of screw connector for a break apart wand. I can find large ones meant for pool cues and canes, but not a smaller one for a wand (say .5" diameter). I don't know if I'm not finding it because I'm not using the right search term, or if they get custom made.

I believe you are looking for brass (typical metal these are made of) threaded inserts and threaded pins.
