I recently repurchased the $2.85 coin trick.....YES, I understand how it's done.....BUT do I need another dollar coin after doing a switch of course for examination??? I'm cool with that except where to get an additional dollar coin...

Coin collector shops.
Gold and silver dealers. Maybe some pawn shops, and/or some antique malls. Online auction shops, or other online coin sources? Craigslist, or Facebook Marketplace, maybe? Main thing is to get a coin that is a good visual match for the one you're secretly switching it with, so there are no obvious discrepancies (it should be hard to tell much difference between the two). For that reason, it might be best to make your purchase in person, so you can bring along your own coin(s) to compare them, ensuring a good match (no obvious features that could easily distinuguish one from the other).

No need to have anything examined.
Add coins to your hand adding up to $2.85. Remove $1 and put it away. Ask what's left.... *nothing* Also nothing to be examined. |
