The part where you load in lemons and go into a signed bill in lemon routine

My best has been when I used the Vernon wand spin to vanish the ball and it reappears under the cup.

Man! I'm not going to touch that line, especially after what Johnny Carson told Arnold Palmer's wife on the tonight show!
HA! I saw that show...remember it well...I can't remember ever laughing so hard! Mike |

I start mine with the elevator move. I've found that this gets them murmuring and pointing but no big deal. They've seen this on TV and expect it to work. Then I do the spectator selects the cup routine. That gets them going. I end it with the three balls in front that return to under the cups. I have a double final load and that leaves them satisfied.

As the climax to the routine, surely the final load always gets the biggest reaction. If not, it's an anticlimax - by definition.
I have six locks on my door all in a row. When I go out, I only lock every other one. I figure no matter how long somebody stands there picking the locks, they are always locking three. Elayne Boosler

I am still working on basic routines but the vernon/morra wand spin is certainly one of my faves and perhaps the slight I am most prooud of. I have only done it for family so far but none of them have seen thru it.

I guess it all depends on the routine you use. I know of a simple one and the climax is the final load of lemons at the end.

Apropos of the cups and balls, tho, I have to say that I think the explanation phase is important, primarily because it starts the setup for the final sequence and completely changes the rhythm of the routine. That helps a lot with disarming the spectator and also has them thinking in a completely different area than you are now working. just another $.02 |

This is one of those "Urban Legends" which, unfortunately has been replayed on television. Sometimes Snopes has to realize that even the TV networks cover these things up.
It's like the National Weather Service. They claim that Hurricane Carla never passed over Houston. Interesting. I was there. I went out during the eye. Perhaps it wasn't the eye, maybe it was an ear, instead. They didn't have satellite tracking in those days so they don't know. So Snopes drops a notch in my view. I saw a replay of the incident with Arnold Palmer's wife.
