A variation of Ralph W. Hull or Edward G. Brown's spelling trick.

Ten or thirteen card packet, values are spelt out one by one, but when the spectator tries it, he always gets the joker and the joker is discarded each time on the table (not replaced on top or bottom of the packet in hand) every time and yet he gets the joker every time he spells. Finally, he spells joker and gets a joker and its discarded. Finally one card remains and its a joker too.

Is this variation published anywhere, please.
“It’s not what you do that matters, or even how you do it;
it’s what the spectators perceive you as doing that matters.
That’s the MAGIC they’ll remember.”

Thank you. In that the joker is again placed in top of the pack and only one joker is used.

Yes that's correct it's called Spelling Test and it's on page number 36.

The version I am looking for is the joker is discarded from the pack. Yet another joker appears when the spect spells

So presumably there is a setup required with multiple jokers in the packet?
Do you know what cards the performer and spectator spell to? You could probably figure out what the setup needs to be.

Sorry for the belated reply.

ACE and Two are spelled by the magician and he gets it.

Three, spec spells and he gets the joker, the joker is replaced in the pack.

Now magician spells three and gets three

Now spec spells four but gets the Joker. The magician discards the joker on the table and the magi spells four and gets the four.

Spec spells five but he gets a joker again and it is discarded on the table, magi counts five and gets five

Spec spells six but gets a joker, it's discarded and Magi spells six and gets 6.
