Hi,
another newbie question: wanting to do a Laflin's "Magic lollipops" routine and was searching for plunger type dye tubes, even wrote to David Laflin, who mentioned that they are discontinued. Perhaps you know who sells them or can manufacture them... I also looked into making them myself, but not having an actual plunger type dye tube available, it is hard to make something similar. It looks like a simplex dye tube with a leather membrane. Perhaps some of you know how I can make it myself, would you mind sharing the steps or selling instructions? I'm directing you to a thread on Lollipop magic where at the bottom of the thread Dave Scribner has kindly posted some photos for me click the link and you'll see a couple of photos that may interest.
I'm not sure what the trick is or who makes it. https://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/view......forum=17 - Mary |

Is that the trick you're talking about?
It is not too clear but all the dye tubes there are plungers. - Mary Mowder |

I posted an idea on the forum years ago. Never tried it but I still think it would work.
https://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/view......forum=54 https://www.target.com/p/jumbo-push-pop-......rc=aw.ds According to one of the reviews at Target, theirs came with a spring so they may be made differently now. Cheap enough to experiment though. Post your results if you try it. |

And thank you for going the extra mile and reosting the pictures. I did go to the original forum and saw them (thanks to your links), so you are a double blessing! . |

I didn't bid on them because I don't need those type of dye tubes , but I thought about it ... maybe would need it someday ? Anyway , I passed on it. But just wanted to encourage you that they are out there, so keep looking. https://tinyurl.com/PlungerStyle Maybe check with Viking Magic. They make several types of Dye Tubes. They might consider making a plunger style tube ? |

That sounds like what you need. Funtime is a wholesaler from India , their main distributor in U.S.A. is D.Robbins/EZ Magic. They can give you list of magic shops that sell the Funtime Magic product line. One shop that I've had good luck with ordering items (specifically Funtime Magic items) is Madhatter Magic. |

Ok. First this lollipop effect is basically the Harrison silk blow. Yes, the original tubes were the plunger style but you do not need a plunger style. You can also do with a regular dye tube or just tube. The original used the plunger to keep the white silk in the tube as colored silk is blown out.
