Splash bottle has got to be one of my most favourite effects, it is quite simply very startling, direct and straight forward, I find it an ideal opener, every convention here in the uk ive been at you can always hear a bang every 10 minutes coming from Magic Dream's dealers stand as the pop the balloon. Its the sort of effect once youve seen you HAVE to buy, I strongly reccomend this to you

With Splash Bottle can you produce the bottle any other way besides with a balloon?

Quote: Sure..you could do it just like Bob Read, using a silk, some *noses* or coins..only thing is you have to tilt the bottle (inside the gimmick)- by some *excuse*, in case of David Stone, he does use taking out a pair of siccors of his inside breastpocket -so actually Bobs handling is better On 2004-08-04 12:45, Magic79 wrote:

The thing I like about Bob Read's production is you end clean. You can take off your jacket and not worry about anything. I watched Bob's video on Monday and will try to master it over time. IMO I think his production is the best one out there right now.

I remember seeing Mr. Read do his bottle in the late 70's or early 80's. Yes, I believe he produced a second bottle.
His misdirection with coins and fun noses was a hoot. Re: Braces..... I love the look and have been wearing them or vest since the 60's. Re: Words.... Braces versus Suspenders... I was working in a comedy club and commented on how much I liked a spectators braces.... "Nice Braces" is the quote if my memory is working this A.M. The reaction from his table was not what I expected... Then I noticed that he had "braces" on both legs.... What would you have responded with. I can't remember my response. Be safe and creative. Michael Ammar does this beautifully. As with all tricks, practice is the key to success. I have a video of him doing the production and even if I slow it down (close up) and watch it frame-by-frame I can't catch him doing it. Amazing.

I have seen both Bob Read and Michael Ammar do their bottle productions and was amazed with both. I'm thinking it is best to produce only one bottle for each method but you could probably use both methods to produce 2 bottles.

David Stones idea isn't his but its called Splash Bottle, its advertised as Balloon to bottle but it is basically just a holder for bottle, you can get it from http://www.jbtv.co.uk
Hope this helps, Dave Major |

Michael Ammar does a topit version and a sleeve version. The sleeve version with a small wine bottle (like you get on airplanes) is beautiful. I believe he uses it for his coin to bottle routine.
If you are up on stage there are plenty of ways to either load yourself (topit, elastic waist band, or any type of holder) or load it onto the back of a chair, on your table, etc... It really just depends on the size of the bottle. Eugen Berger has a nice shot glass from a paper bag that could be easily done with a bottle.

Well, on Vol. 1 of Jeff McBride's stage magic DVD, he teaches his commando act which includes a champagne bottle production from his case. This could be adapted to a chair if you wanted. If you need info on chair productions in general one of the other two volumes covers chair productions.
