I have been doing family and children's shows for over 50 years. Slowly getting tired of carrying multiple magic tables, backdrops, sound system etc. About 10% of my business is close-up and strolling magic. Has anyone transitioned from stage and/or family shows to solely doing close-up and strolling magic? Any advice, thoughts, regrets, or lessons learned? Thanks in advance.

In the 50-90's my 45 min. Children s Show was from a rolling case that open'd up approx 36 by 12 by 18 -made myself from an Idea seen in Abbotts- Was able to to Shows <> inside , outside, floor, stage - no need for a background. YP Ads and 75% referrals, NEVER had A problem. Seems now day everyone wants Banners, etc, Grand decorations - Simple Entertainment always did it. Sorry, at 87, not real PC literate so cant send photos. STOP< THINK< IMAGINE< You'll get it. Wife and I did do a Stage Show - using 1 small and 1 large Case , Folding Screen, Cover'd Head Chopper, now and then a Super X (if price was right) - can send photo to regular email,

Hey Ed, that is a big business transition you are considering. You may want to
discuss this topic with the folks in the Tricky Business section of the forum: https://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/view......44&89146 Personally, I consider strolling to be very viable as an offering, but limiting. |
