I’m looking for the name of an effect. You take a shot glass and place on a table. You then covert it with an inverted larger tumbler. You vanish a coin that is then seen drop into the shot glass.
Thoughts please Sean |

There is (was) an effect like that invented by Bob Kline and called Copenetro. It was a mechanical effect and didn't rely upon sleight of hand.
I'm not sure it's still being made. At one time I think either Viking or Collector's Workshop was producing a version of the same effect called "Silver Odyssey," and it was very pricey (over $1,000). SETH

There's a trick similar to this, but with two shot glasses of equal size, in a book by Karl Fulves. See

You can also accomplish almost the same effect with just one shot glass, for about $10-20, plus some elementary sleight of hand.
If you Google "coin coaster magic," you'll see lots of good options. Penguin Magic sells a few different coaster-type effects, including the Royal Magic coaster and the "Roller Coaster." SETH

On second thought, if you're just starting out, I suggest you go with the Royal Magic coaster, which you should be able to pick up for under $10. It's plastic, but it should last for quite a long time (if you don't drop it). The Roller Coaster is a clever adaptation, but it's about $60 and reportedly may have a few issues.
Another possibility, if you can find one, is something called a "Buma Board," also known as a Penny Board. This is a thin wooden board that looks like a small checkerboard. It's been sold as a pitch item for many years, but it may be difficult to get your hands on one now, I'm not sure why. Incidentally, this is the trick that supposedly got David Copperfield interested in magic after he saw it demoed by a pitchman in Macy's Department Store! SETH
