Calling all Magicians! (Especially the Canadian ones.)

Our wonderful Browser’s Den of Magic in Toronto could use your support right now…

——

Dear Magic Friends,

It pains me to no end to write this note but reality has forced me to do so.
And that reality is that for four straight years (since Covid) business has been very poor.

During Covid we were doing about four or five sales per week. And for the past couple of years due to the horrible economy things have not improved.

Generally speaking, our special events (Anniversary Party, Auctions, Bash, etc.) are either well attended or very well attended. But they do not make up for the day to day business since Covid that has been so very poor.

When I first took over Browser's in 1995 my goal was always to create a shop environment where the customers could get away from their daily problems/stresses. So again, I am sorry to write you a note of this nature.

I expect that some time in 2025 with interest rates slowing starting to lower, the economy will improve and people will begin to return to the shop.

But we need some help now.

So if you are able to donate any amount to us I would be very grateful.

Yours very truly- Jeff Pinsky

David… thanks for reaching out and pointing out the broken link. I also sent you a PM with the proper link. If anyone is able to post a working link using bit.ly that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks all!

Here's a shorter link.

To the US magicians here, donating $100 Canadian will only cost your $80 US.

Please help, I got to visit Browser's Den a few times when I was working contract in Ontario, and absolutely loved the place.

Just curious if anyone went to their event on November 17th, and how it went?

I was there. It went well. Lots of people hanging around and being social. I saw people showing each other magic, people buying. The auction was trickier, but I think successful. They made it work. I left empty handed, but did meet some new people and had some nice conversations.

Thanks for replying. I've been shopping there for over thirty years, and hope they'll be around for the next generation.

Times are tough no doubt. But it was refreshing to see how many people were stopping to ask about what was happening. The shop is more visible to people who didn’t already know about it and I hope to see it draw in new people to discover magic.
