Dear all,
I m reading through the excellent Complete Gypsy Switch Handbook, and stumbling on this acquitment called THE PULL-THROUGH CONCEALMENT. This is a way of showing your hands empty while casually showing a handkerchief. It is easy to do, yet extremely convincing. The instructions that follow are extracted from the book and will be from a right-hand viewpoint: " With the copper coin thumb-palmed in your right hand, hold the handkerchief by one corner with the left thumb and first finger, allowing the remaining corners to hang down. The corner should extend about three inches above your left fingers with the little finger side of the hand facing the floor. Keeping the back of the right hand to the audience, come up to the handkerchief and encircle it just below the left thumb and first finger with your right thumb and first finger. Do not pinch the cloth, but just allow the pads of the thumb and first finger to lightly touch. Turn both palms toward the audience, and with the left thumb and first finger pull the handkerchief through the circle formed by the touching of the right thumb and first finger. The palmed coin will not be disturbed or seen. Stop pulling when all but about four inches of the handkerchief remain to be pulled through the circle. When you reach this point, turn the right palm towards yourself. This action looks casual and it does seem possible for anything to be concealed in your hand. => does that mean that I will have my right palm with the thumb clipped coin facing me ?? => now this is the part that I really don t understand : After the “pull-through” action is completed, you are left with the hanky your left hand again held by one corner. Next, grip the hanging long side of the hanky at the hem with the right hand. Your thumb and little finger should be behind the hanky and the first, second, and third fingers in front, and visible to the audience. Gripping the cloth in this manner insures a smooth, even spreading of the hanky over the palm. As you move to grip the hanky in this manner, maneuver the thumb-palmed coin from thumb palm to classic palm. (The larger motion covers the smaller one.) Now hold the left hand out flat, palm up. Cover the hand with the hanky and as the hanky is spread across the palm and simply release the classic-palmed coin and allow it to drop onto the left palm. => would be so greateful if someone could help clarify the second part of the acquitment. Also curious to see if anyone use(d) it in video (archives?) ? cheers VG |

I have done it and can explain it - but NONE of this belongs in open forum.
write me ken@eversway.com including comments as to what effect you are using this sequence as part of. What came before and what will follow? What is the "magic effect" you wish the observers to remember?
