Hi Folks,
Do you use this prop set? With quarters? With Half Dollars? Does it easily reset without obvious thumping?

I got a set as a gift at one point. It's been a while, so I'm not sure where it is offhand. It's mostly what you expect, though I don't recall it having a bang ring. The tolerances aren't as tight as something like Procaps (or so I'm led to believe, I don't have it). My memory is that you can separate it with a moment and your hand, though that also makes it less examinable.
It's worth pointing out, though, that much of the routine can be done through smart handling (think axes) which means you may be able to keep it mostly loose, which means no reset is even necessary. I'm trying to be a little vague, but hopefully that's clear enough. |

I'm trying to work out something using the half dollar version and hesitate to polish the interior of the cap so no thumping is required.
As a line of thought - consider if the audience only knows about one cap. D:

Unless I am hallucinating, you have to use the two caps AND the bang ring in your routine because of the method. I have never seen a version using a half dollar. I have seen quite a few brands/versions using a U.S. Quarter size coin. The milled edges can be an issue.
Most are made of brass although I have seen a set made of aluminum. Some have concentric circles on the top of the caps while others are plain/flat. Hope I am accurate and hope that helps. |

I've definitely seen a half dollar version before. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07ZVH7GMX from a quick search.
If you're not doing a final load, you don't have to use both caps. Here's an example routine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wWERg-2YEog there are several disappearances/reappearances which mean it doesn't have to bind. But I agree the middle ring (as opposed to the bang ring) is important to hide what's going on. |

That is what I would call a standard routine for Dynamic Coins. He was using both caps and the ring but not everything always at the same time.
What he did is what I consider to be a traditional routine (without anything surprising to those familiar with the trick/routine) and a very good one. I saw that half dollar size set on Amazon. I am thinking that it is a recent release. IMHO, I find that larger size to be great for half dollar workers but uses a less familiar/common coin and a bit cumbersome. I wonder if what you actually receive looks just like that set in the photo which looks very nice. |

Folks here know the trick where you pass an entire stack of quarters (or half dollars) thought a volunteer's hand.
I'd like to start with loose coins and do a little magic before moving on to produce or vanish entire piles of coins at one time.
