I was wondering if there is a good source for networking with other illusionists for buying and selling used illusions.  It would be great if there were a master list that illusionists from around the world could opt in to so that they can deal direct with eachother in the illusion market.  I'm frequently both selling and looking for specific items in the illusion field. 

It could be good to have other options besides (the under new management) Magic Auction and Used Magic Illusions and outside of social media.  Open to thoughts and ideas.

Surplus magic exchange is probably the closest thing you will find. (FB group).

@illusion77 I had always sort of toyed with the idea creating some sort of official consortium of Illusionists for this sort of thing, folks that are interested in new and original material, who respect the rights and royalties while upholding ethics and working to evolve and push the envelope with new material and effects. I didn't want it to be an origination to police though. Sort of tough with the current climate of where things are at. Complex subject.

Collective Foundry - it would be great to have something like this. Someday, as builders close/retire, the used market will be the best way to find certain illusions, and it would be a good resource to have a large group to reach out to. Imagine how many illusions exist around the world. A way to get in touch would be a great way to keep the grand illusion market alive.

@illusion77: Would be super cool. Maybe some kind of database builders can add to their profile which propagates to a wider list of stage illusions that folks can register to.

Agreed, seems like a no brainer for people who work with illusions, and it would create a great situation to put people in direct contact with eachother, no middle person needed. Could be as simple as a shared Google doc/spreadsheet.

Thanks Jonathan, I appreciate the response - but I'm envisioning something where illusionists can get in touch directly with eachother. This direct contact, to me, would definitely be the best way to go when looking for, selling, or buying illusions - or just knowing what is out there in the world.
