I don't mean to derail the thread, I brought it up because you straight up ignored me for 18 months about the credit and it was weird. Even through PM. Yet still posting reviews of your book online. I had to just let it go, but now here we are, 18 months later, the same thing comes up so I point it out.

I've never heard of a credit only being if you were inspired by something. I've always heard of a credit as something that already exists and you are giving them credit for coming up with it, out of respect. Obviously if you don't know about it, you can't credit them. But if it comes up afterwards, you don't just ignore it - you retroactively credit them for having come up with the thing first (whether it's a significant aspect of a trick or the trick itself).

I don't see what's different about E1 and Duos Exitum. Both use the same core method/concept to reveal the prediction, your effect just uses a different method to swap out the options. Regardless, there is more than enough similar there to credit him.

If you truly believe that independent creation doesn't require credit, why in the dark world would you be looking into Cosmos Duo?

Feel free to PM me, I'm not trying to derail your thread.

Last I checked he doesn’t OWE you a response, you are not entitled, only the creator in question could advance the discussion if they felt it appropriate. Stop being “that guy”,

Moving forward, I'll do a better job of asking myself the following question: Is it any of my business to get involved?

Back to OOTD, I like how this is easily instantly reset so it's great for walk-around if you can manage your angles. You don't even need a table, you can use someone's hands for the piles.

Hey everyone,

A few days ago, there was a claim that Out of This Darkness and Greg Rostami’s Cosmos Duo share the same method. However, I didn't want to post my thoughts until I spoke directly to Greg.

I saw a video performance of Cosmos Duo (which is fantastic by the way. I urge you to check it out). I'm not embarrassed to say that one element of the routine fooled me.

Greg has now read Out of This Darkness in its entirety, and we both agree there is a slight overlap in method (like with nearly all OOTWs). However, it is minimal, and I have, in fact, credited Out of This Darkness CORRECTLY (the two Pauls).

Thanks to Greg for taking time out of his busy schedule to discuss this with me.

Cheers,
Kaleb

Hello friends,

As Kaleb has already mentioned, he and I spoke on the phone and even though there's a bit of overlap between the methods of his OOTD, and my Cosmos Duo, there's enough of a difference that I'm comfortable with his release.

Even though Kaleb doesn't have a video of his performance, here's a performance of my Cosmos 2 for those of you who are familiar with Kaleb's effect for your comparison:

All the best,
Greg Rostami

The only crossover in method to Cosmos Duo is the ending, and that is credited correctly to the original creator.

Anyway, I recently reviewed Out of This Darkness by Kaleb Wade.
This is a descent into the deliciously eerie mind of a creator who knows how to dance on the edge of reality.
Join me as I unpack the shadows, the structure, and the strange beauty hidden inside this powerful piece. It’s emotional and in true Kaleb Wade fashion it’s dark.
Check it out on Mentalist Blogger.

Don’t read it with the lights off.

How does this compare to John Armstrong's Out of This Blah Blah Blah?

Out of This Blah Blah Blah is 100 times better for me!!!
If you want the spectator to deal the cards (I don't see why) cosmos 2 is better than Out of This Darkness.

It is only my opinion...

Cosmos 2 is the most hands off! Blah Blah is the least hands off but still a nice take! OOTD is the most realistic! Blah Blah is third place for me! I think OOTD is best for impromptu casual performances and Cosmos is best if you want to perform and OOTW at a walkaroung gig!

Many thanks,

So I picked this up, I was a little hesitant as I have used many versions of OOTW in the past and I have a version I already perform regularly but I got this based on enjoying, and more importantly using a lot of Kaleb’s previous work. I really like his style and thinking and OOTD is no exception, I will be giving this a whirl and will almost certainly end up using it as written, just with my own presentation. Very pleased with the purchase, recommended!

Finally finished reading Out of This Darkness — Kaleb’s take on the Out of This World plot.

Kaleb doesn’t try to reinvent the wheel, but what he does do is deepen the effect with clever thinking, natural handling, and a few subtle touches that really elevate the experience for both performer and audience. If you’re a fan of the plot (or just enjoy strong, thoughtful card magic), this is well worth picking up. Practical, smart, and refreshingly clear in its thinking.

Cheers,
Adam

Hey guys,

I have had this book for awhile now, but I didn't want to post a review or thoughts until I had time to read it once, then go back and go through it with cards and hand, and also perform it for the wife or on someone.

I am happy to say that I have done all that, and am ready to share my viewpoints regarding this effect.

Kaleb Wade is no stranger when it comes to developing and changing existing plots and making them his own, and of course different than the original.

This is no exception.

What do you receive? A 66 page ebook.

What is Out of this Darkness?

It is Kaleb's way of performing Out of This World.

Is this version really worth your time and study? Yes 100%. Why?

Because there is something to learn with Kaleb's thinking, and you will enjoy doing the effect on yourself.

You will kick yourself on how easy everything really is, but then again you can start to imagine how this will play for real when you do it on someone.

Advantages of this version: uses a gimmick that you can make up + fewer cards than the original (half)

Also, the psychology at work here is great, you will understand when you read the Bluff section.

The thing I like about this also, if you do not understand something, a move, or something, Kaleb has videos that you can watch that will guide you through it.

I will be honest......I was on a 3 hour flight back home, and decided to re-read with cards and hand and try it out, and I was pleasantly surprised at the end of the effect. I was smiling from ear to ear, because it is very clever, and easy to do, but fooling and baffling.

If Out of this World had cliff notes, this would be the version of that, it is like a condensed version of Out of This World without taking anything away effectwise, pyschologywise, or anything of thate sort. Its simply great!

I applaud Kaleb for coming up with this. The kicker ending is great, and I like that you do not need to have a leader card and switch color piles like we are used to seeing, that is another advantage of this version.

It never hurts to learn multiple ways of achieving the same effect. Why not learn this way and have different ways of performing Out of this World, this way you can pick and choose which version you will do, when, and for whom.

Best,

Alex Alejandro

Hey everyone,

OUT OF THIS DARKNESS is nearly one year old, and I hope everyone who bought it enjoyed the routines and ideas I shared.

The purpose of this post is to inform you that I received an interesting email from Giuseppe Rocca the other day. He has created a forcing method for OUT OF THIS DARKNESS. This forcing method is simple and utterly deceiving. Essentially, you can predict in advance the exact playing card the participant gets wrong EVERY time! It is hard to do the method justice in a couple of sentences, so, with that said, Giuseppe has kindly made this method available free for everyone who has purchased OOTD. I have added the video to the OOTD video section, which can be accessed directly here: https://www.kalebwade.co.uk/ootd

The password is at the bottom of page 26 of your ebook, and the video is titled, THE PERFECT MISTAKE.

***Please do not share this with non-purchasers of the ebook. And if any of you bought OOTD from a pirated website for $2.99, you don’t deserve to watch the video. And if you do, I hope you have a terrible nights sleep.***

Thank you, Giuseppe for sharing this method for free. I wish I had thought of this myself - it is brilliant!

Cheers,
Kaleb
