I bought a number of gaffed cards (short cards, rounded corners, etc) and packet tricks from Martini's Magic, which seemed like a very small family online seller who handmade everything. The selection was limited and it didn't appear to be a typical magic shop. I believe that Martini also created the Martini rising cards deck, unless I am mistaken. I cannot find the website any longer, it may be down.
For some reason I associated this shop with the East Coast of the United States (possibly NY or NJ) but again I am not sure. It's been quite a while. The owner or whoever was running it was a class act.
I use a trick I bought there quite often. It is called My Sister's Dilemma.I would really like to know more about the origin of the trick, and its creator, as it is one of the strongest pieces I perform in walk-around sets. I am also working on a book and I would like to include it (not without permission of course!) since I added a few performance tidbits which I think greatly strengthen it.
Does this ring a bell to anyone?

The owner is Marty Grams, and he operated in Pennsylvania (unless my memory is discombobulated). Very well liked and respected. He's made a couple of dvd's you might be interested in obtaining, "Magic You Can Make" and "Easy Card Tricks You Can Make at Home".
My ex-cat was named "Muffin". "Vomit" would be a better name for her. AKA "The Evil Ball of Fur".

Marty has retired, and his daughter has taken over. She was sending out big mailings, but I've moved and not sure if one has been sent in a while. You might try this: martinismagic@hotmail.com

So, this is the same Martini that made Devano-style rising card decks, right ?

I see that Steve Myers Magic lists Martini Rising Card decks in stock.
