Hi, I'm considering buying either the Crystal Cut or Bazar de Magia Pro milk pitchers? Which do you prefer and why?
Thanks! |

Not sure which is which, or even if the model I’m thinking of is one of the pair you mention, but I like the version that has a magnet at the base of the insert. So easy to remove it for a really good cleaning.
Speaking of cleaning, avoid OOM (old school fake milk; some sort of machinist’s oil). Just use something with a long room temp shelf life, like almond or soy milk.
For a supernatural chiller mixing magic (prestidigitation, legerdemain) with Magic (theurgy, thaumaturgy, mysticism), check out my novel MAGIC: AN OCCULT THRILLER at http://www.amazon.com/Magic-Occult-Thriller-Reed-Hall/dp/1453874836

I've used both the Crystal Cut or Bazar de Magia Pro. I don't have a strong preference between one or the other. I suppose the style of pitcher used for the Bazar de Magia one is more common, like you would typically see at a restaurant used for pitchers of cola, orange juice, iced tea, or beer. The Crystal Cut looks "fancier" and is taller. The Bazar de Magia model does allow the gimmick to be removed for cleaning, although I never had any problems with cleaning the Crystal Cut pitcher. Just add some warm (not hot) water with a small drop of Dawn dishwashing liquid , swish it around (you can also use a soft bottle brush to scrub the sides) , then rinse with cool water.
There's another one on the market that looks similar to the Bazar de Magia pitcher , called "Milk Jug - Jumbo" (made by Funtime Magic) distributed by Murphy's and available at many dealers, such as Penguin and Vanishing Inc. https://www.murphysmagic.com/product.aspx?id=75498 . I like this one the most because it gives the impression of the largest amount of milk poured out overall. (this one also allows for the gimmick to be removed for washing.) ![]() I agree with Karnak's post above , don't use OOM, use almond milk , or for "orange juice" use Tangâ„¢ powdered orange drink mix. If you need to add a bit of opacity to a colored liquid like the "orange juice"(Tang)just stir in a bit of non-dairy creamer. Almond milk mixed with just a bit of blue and red food coloring can read as a "blueberry smoothie". . |

Thanks for the suggestion and tips. I was considering the two mentioned because of speed of receiving it where I live. I've read some bad reviews about the Bazar one, but also saw that it may have been a bad batch.
Dealer says Crystal that they sell is the best. |

Someone should make a milk carton that appears to pour milk into a cone. I bought one when they were being produced, and I may use it before long. There's no fuss or mess. They would be easy to produce if you own a lathe.

Payne made one that can be seen in this video starting around the 1:57 mark - to - 2:08 https://youtu.be/sU7I7lQ2Ehg?t=117 At one time I had "The Jug" , but for some reason I sold it (now wish I had not because Dan stopped making them and they are hard to find). Dan Harlan said he has no interest in making them again , but I wish someone would start producing them again. (from what Dan said they were very labor-intensive to make) ![]() |

I purchased Bazar de Mafia's pitcher. I like the look and ease of cleaning, but you can't pour milk out of it in the beginning. Is the Crystal cut pitcher like a milk glass that would allow you to pour some out initially?

How convincing is the milk carton version if you can't see through it?

I really like the Foxx Evaporation version I made with a G-Zero bottle.
![]() ![]() It is ultra visible. You can find my thoughts on it in the thread for that trick. |
