Has anyone seen the old wood gimmicks for coating cards with fanning powder? They used to be around everywhere, now hard to find.
I bought one made in india recently...total junk! shaking the cards in a bag is just too messy. I know the wood thingy took time, but it used to do such a great job. S. |

I just use a nice plastic bag. I place ina bit of powder.. drop my cards it. and then shake them a around a bit. It is the best method I have used to date. It coats all the cards evenly, keeps my hands clean and does so in a short amount of time.

I do the same. I open a brand new deck, bend them and work them for manipulation. Then place them in the bag and coat them. Remove them and wipe each one down to get the powder evenly coated. Then the get shuffled for a bit to rid any excess and then into the card press they go!
It's a ritual developed over time, but works to perfection.

Found an old "Soo-Zee" in a box of magic from an estate/collection I bought years ago. It's brand new. It's the wooden frame thing you're talking about for the application of fanning powder. I think it's still in the package! Anybody want some fanning powder?...I have about 2 pounds of this stuff. 2 pounds of zinc stearate is a LOT, too. I'll never use this stuff up...
