I was given a box of vintage magic from the wife of someone who performed in the '40s... "until he broke a finger, then he gave up magic" Told the box just contained old decks of cards, I found a set of 8 linking rings in a separate box underneath the cards. No identifying mark on the box. No weld marks or seams on the rings. I haven't measured them but I can see they're 8 inches or so. They are not thin.Told he only performed in the '40s, I can see his interest continued into the fifties ( there's an Ireland catalog whose cover is signed by Tarbell and dated 1955) There was a price list for Merv Taylor dated May 1st 1953 which contains "Orb Eternal" ring sets and individual specialty rings for sale but I don't know if these are them. I suppose it doesn't matter who made them as I'm going to keep them but I am curious. Any suggestions on identifying them?

Without any documents, give away packaging etc. I think this an almost impossible task! The comment about invisible welds and seams does suggest "high end". Merv Taylor rings are reputed to sound very good - bell like. To complicate things manufacturers varied sizes and materials over the years. Comparing them physically with a verified set(s) would probably take you a long way.

Thanks. They sound dull to me. Measured them, they're 10 inch. Glad to have the set.
