Living Noted, I’m not a mentalism guy but this is just joyful doing the peek. I’m pretty sure this will become the default casual mentalism peek for a very long time.

After around 20 runs on spectators, Noted is standing out as a top notch effect. No one even looked at the pad; Chris' method for information acquisition works perfectly; and, you can have a lot of fun with the drama and process of reveals, which as always is a critical component of elevating the severity of psychological trauma inflicted on your joyful victims.

Don’t expect the superstitious to even consider that this isn’t real mind reading.

Thanks, Mr. Rawlins! Five stars.

Got this & and it kills. You can casually flip through the post it pad even when it's got the thing you need to see ready for you to see it. Since boxes of the pens are cheap on amazon, you don't even really *need* to get the pen back every time. I did it before a show the other day for, what turned out to be, a mentalist from the 1980's here. He kept looking for hidden mirrors in the vicinity, people helping me, etc.

Can't wait to use this more.

Chris' effects are always the best.

Haven't gotten my pads yet, but a thought.

They could write keys, ring, wallet, phone in any order top down (they can even right one of them over the glue part). Then ask them to tear the top piece off, ball it up and set it down in front of them. Then the next, either to the left or right. Then the remaining two as well. You just have to watch from top down where they are and follow along.

Go to start writing, then hesitate and remove the slip as if you'll write down openly on the table and get your peek. (Or get peek any way with whatever excuse.)

Once peeked, you say, "you know what? let's just use those actual items" and put yours on the table. Concentrate, whatever, then move them into positions. Obviously you'll know three and will know the fourth by what you don't see. Open the paper next to each rolled up scrap, and voila. Match. Present how you will.

Psychiac - thanks so much. I am very glad to hear that you have realised the power within Noted. People have no clue, every time.

DoubleDutched - thank you. Im not surprised it caught him, Noted is very deceptive.

Nathan - thank you for sharing that fun idea. I'll play around with that, good idea!

Noted batch two is moving really fast.

I will be making an appearance at The Alakazam Convention on Saturday. Where I will bring some Noted Plus and Pro sets along.

Come and say hi!

Chris, any thoughts on redesigning the small moted so it is similar (glue strip across wide end) to a real sticky note pad that size?

During the development, we explored that.

problem is - you lose writing space as the glue area increases.

Plus, there unbranded sticky notes with the glue where Noted has it.

I must have performed with Noted more than I can count and nobody has ever realised.

After all, what they are left with IS a sticky note.

Thanks for the reply. I perform for friends, family and guests and most are aware of the type of sticky notes I use (many of them do as well) so for a "hobbiest" performer it is, perhaps, more important than for a Pro...

Im confident that Noted will fly under the radar.

Has for me in social and professional environments for a very long time now.

Don’t worry.

I think this method is great, but is anyone having a problem with bleed through onto the Post-It just below the one the audience member writes on? This happened to me today and they asked if they should peel that one off too, which would of course wreck everything. It’s also happened a couple of times as I play and practice. Any solutions? To me, this effect only works if they see absolutely nothing on the note below the one they wrote on.

Hey!

This is all spoken about on the tutorial. when it happens (which you can't completely remove the chance of due to the paper being breathable) it actually makes more sense to remove the second sheet.

I also teach all the timing, and details in the tutorial that cover everything.

Any bleed doesn't do more than give a few dots on page two, which when you give it to them and if they look at it, they can quickly see it gives you no help. (if they think to look)

But if you round off the marker, and break the pen in, it happens much less frequently.

This is because when you open a fresh pen, like you have - it's never been used, likely been stored upright for a prolonged time and has a sharp nib. So ink flows less smoothly and more concentrated than it will after being broken in.

Ive worked with Noted for a really long time and share all the insight I've learned from experience in professional and casual situations on the video, so maybe revisit that too from time to time as its a lot to absorb in one sitting.

If you need or want anymore help or guidance, drop me an email, we can always jump on a zoom. Happy to help.

Hope that helps!

P.S I showed Noted off to everyone at The Alakazam Convention yesterday, no surprise the stock I took was all claimed. And many already owned Noted and came to share performance stories, which I love to hear.

Thanks everyone.

Thank you Chris! That's very helpful. Admittedly I watched the tutorial a few weeks before I had props in hand so I understood the basics of method, timing etc but forgot details like this.

Incidentally, this aforementioned performance attempt was a pretty defined bleed of the number my spectator wrote (the numbers were surprisingly clear), which is why she asked if she should get rid of the second sheet. That said, this was my first attempt on a person and the marker wasn't remotely broken in. I see why your suggestion will pretty much solve the issue!

Are there any pens with a thinner nib that work with Noted?

Yes. My solution was to drain some of the ink out of the pen. With some disposable gloves on, I wrapped the tip in a paper towel, stood the pen on end - tip down, and squashed some aluminum foil around the whole deal to form a flat and leak-proof base that holds the pen straight vertically (of course, tip still down). After several increments of five to ten minutes, then a test after each, repositioning the paper towel on each round to an absorbent area - I eventually had diminished and then eliminated bleed. Much more comfortable!

You are so welcome. Breaking in the marker and getting used to how and why this works is important. Like with anything.

What's great about Noted is that its fun to practice !

Even more fun to perform with.

dirtyfoucault - I am always looking for new markers but the provided one is one that I have worked with for many years and is made by a reliable brand. So even though I am sure others are out there, should I find one - it will take time to really test the dependency of it compared to what we are all using.

Psychiac - has great way to use Noted he just shared with me on pm.

I am sharing an update regarding Noted to my lost tomorrow, if you aren't on the list you can join us here: https://c-r-products.yolasite.com/Store.php

I am down to 2 boxes of 12 from batch 2. I'll be ordering more Noted soon but if you need or want pads, now is a good time to avoid the unavoidable gap in availability.

Have a great week everyone!

Sharing with Mr. Rawlins’ blessing:
Perform Noted, asking the spectator to determine a two-digit number and "don't make it too easy".
If the number is 34 or higher - create a magic square (I use the one Osterlind teaches).
Show the square - "do you see your number?"
"No? Please show me your number."
Confusion. Then you see it…
Reveal to your heart’s content.
Square souvenir for participant.
Of course there is much more patter and drama but you get the point.

This is great. Where does he teach his method if you don't mind me asking?

Side note, my package arrives today with the mail in minutes.... Thanks Chris.

If you have Larry Beckers Stunners Plus look up April’s Not-So-Magic-Square in there Larry gives a fantastic dodge to get exactly the right range you need and it fits perfectly with the first routine Chris describes on the Noted video. Then get them to write the number. Do your peek and go into the magic square. I use Mark Strivings Close-up No Brainer Magic Square which works great with Larry’s idea and Larry’s idea fits perfectly into Chris’s first idea on the video. Sorry for being so cryptic but if you have stunners and or Marks routine you will see how this all fits together!
