Just so everyone is aware, a small portion of the project dropped today.

What do I mean, a small portion? That the creator has unilaterally decided how every single person learns. He's going to drop a method every 2 days, apparently, instead of providing the complete tutorial.

In my personal opinion, that's complete garbage. At best, he knows how HE learns best. However, how I learn, and which variation I would prefer to focus on, should be my decision. Additionally, I made time in my schedule today, not in 2 or 4 days, I have a busy schedule. Sigh...

Personally, I just think it still isn't done but that's just a guess on my part.

Very very disappointed in this rollout but it's my own fault, I should learn never to trust a magician taking pre-orders.

If that delivery schedule wasn’t disclosed to purchasers up front, that’s not cool. Sounds like an incomplete project to me. 20 pages and no mention of this?

Yikes!
Assuming there are still 15 methods that means the tutorial will only be complete on March 31.

I was a bit disappointed and annoyed when I learned this as well. I'd like to see all of the methods and create my own routine with my preferred methods and start practicing. Not the end of the world, but disappointing.

Trust the process. I just watched the 20-minute overview of the system where he exposes around 10 or so of the versions… and I can understand perfectly why it’s best not to have a 5-hour tutorial on everything. There’s just too much to process at once. He has created beautiful sequences and methods for this trick so that it can be repeated multiple times, allowing you to flow thru the different methods depending on what the audience says.

I can tell so much thought and work has gone into this. Totally worth the money. He could be easily charging double for this.

After watching 10 or so performances at the beginning, I was fooled by 8 of the 10. Such good work. And I’ve been doing magic for over 30 years. It was his sequencing and layering of methods and conditioning that is so sophisticated and smart.

Job well done. Excited to learn along the way with him.

Aside: Also, it’s kinda nice to have to wait and be forced to think about a little at a time… vs. living in an instant gratification society. Patience and hard work and practice always yields the best results.

(I made this account when I was like 12). Haven’t been on the cafe in years. Worth the post.

there are 3 'buckets" of method--each method has tons of variations broken down in each section. It'll be much faster than March 31st Smile

The reason some of us want access to it all immediately is like we said - we'd like to see how the different methods look/work so we can take the time initially to go through what we want to learn and skip what we won't use for the moment. I want to create my own preferred routine and start practicing, not wait to watch everything and then be able to start. But again, not the end of the world. I suppose I'm mostly bothered by the fact that this wasn't mentioned at all ahead of time. It was a pre-order and it feels like we're still waiting even after launch date. I'm not complaining, just venting. I look forward to the rest of the tutorial being released.

For those who are actually read the site, it says this:

IMPORTANT INFO ABOUT THE MASTERCLASS!

You will gain access to everything step-by-step not all at once.

1. First you unlocked GIMMICKED versions. Please take time to learn and practice them.

2. Then after 2 days a new section will be unlocked for you teaching DUPLICATE versions.

3. Then after 2 more days you will unlock IMPROMPTU versions.

This is to curate the learning experience for maximum efficiency and not to overwhelm people with the huge amount of information all at once (there are 20 versions to cover). So please be patient with the process, it's designed this way to make sure we all actually learn not just consume.

So a week? No problem for me at all!

Yes, again it's no big deal. Not sure when that was added to the site, though, fair enough if it was always on there. However, I don't think it was - because I just went back to the site and can't even find what you just quoted.

I see, you mean on the tutorial page. I understand what you're trying to say now, you're just saying it says how long it will take to get all of it. Understood

Yeah, that was all Smile

I've watched the current demo's and man, most of them have fooled me! I haven't looked at the explanations yet, but off to a great start!

I was on Johannes' side through all of this debacle, but not releasing all of the project on the release date is not cool. He could have said that on his sales page, but chose not to for some reason.

He is clearly doing this as an anti piracy measure, which is fine, but just be honest and don't fabricate some BS excuse for it!

I’m not a cybersecurity expert, but I don’t know how this dribble distribution strategy will hamper the efforts of the pirates. My understanding is that it is solely a digital product with no gimmick. The Chinese sites will be selling it for $1.49 before we know it.

He seems to have taken a good product with positive testimonials and support, and muddied the waters with a questionable release strategy. I’m kinda scratching my head on this one…

This entire thread is a case study in how to let your emotional attachment override your business sense. Over hyped, over priced, and now customers are annoyed (to some extent).

And I’m still unsure how this is better than Sinful or Capture… with so many people here having purchased TBS surely someone will have an opinion? Smile

Why is "is it better" the question? It's different. Sinful is a signed coin in a sealed can. So if you want to do it with a sealed can (and a signed coin), use Sinful. Captured is a cap in bottle, and it's unavailable. It's also, I assume, not impromptu. TBS has impromptu methods, uses a tab and a can.

Within what's available on the market, you pick the effect and the method you want/need. "Better" is subjective. If all three were "tab in can", we might be able to have a more productive discussion about which is better, but that's not the case. The real question is - is it good/how good is it?

This is a fun trick. Simple and delightfully bold.
I'm not quite as taken with the over-hyped marketing and the overdimensioned and overly verbose instructions. As introduction there were five videos, over 20 minutes in total, that did not touch upon the workings at all. And after around 200 repetitions of "I really love this method (giggle)", the urge to toss the computer out the window is overwhelming. An editor would have been very useful here.
However... it is worth suffering through the verbosity and the needless exploration of every minute handling variation, because the trick itself is fun and delightfully bold.
