This thread reminds me of Christian Grace's Enigma a couple of years ago. Oh my god, so much hype up until the release. Then just quiet as hell afterwards.

I don't know how much more there is to say after 23 pages.
I am still practicing -- I have yet to get through the enormous amount of material. I think this is great and I am going to get a lot of use out of it. I can't say that about all of the magic I have purchased. We have heard lots of reviews from the pros who have seen it and from a bunch of folks here who have previewed and/or bought it. But everyone is entitled to their own opinion. If you're not impressed by the plot then fair play -- this isn't for you. Folks have criticized the marketing and there are some valid points. But the marketing has nothing to do with the experiences I will be able to give my spectators. The other big criticism has been with the price. Would I have paid full price for this? No, but that's just me. I'm not saying it isn't worth it, it's just not worth it TO ME. But I got in early and I am very happy with my purchase. Lots of people bought, for instance, Tim Hill's Emergence for $199. One moment of magic as a finale of a coins to glass that needs to be set up just right and may not last forever. That's crazy TO ME. To each their own. But for anyone who wants to keep posting the same criticisms over and over again, particular when they don't even own the trick -- you do you, but I think it says more about you than it says about the effect. I love this and I don't much care about any ongoing negativity. Call me a shill if it makes you feel better, but that's my honest opinion. |

I guess I’ll need to see more videos of people performing this, still can’t see how this beats Captured or Pretty Penny (forgot about that one!) or Sinful. I think I’m lacking the visual aspect here but maybe I’m wrong!

One difference with Sinful is that it can't be done in the spectator's hands, unlike TBS.
Plus, I haven't watched all the of the methods, but I've just watched one where he just taps the tab on the bottom of the can which is tilted towards us, and then pushes it into the can. It's gone from his hand and is immediately heard inside. A very nice visual and audible penetration. |

I don’t really care for the “in the spectator’s hands” part if I’m honest… I mean yes of course it’s impressive but what’s more important to me is how visual that kind of effect is. Thanks again! |

I'm sorry, I had to laugh when, very early in the thread, we were talking about doing this with a coin instead of a tab, and Johannes said, a little peevishly, "What does a coin have to do with a can? NOTHING"
i'm sorry, this is hype beyond all logic. Try buying a can of soda -- at a grocery store, gas station, convenience store, anywhere -- and NOT have coins be part of the experience. I guess if you pay for it with a credit card (you know, all the people who buy $1.50 cans of soda with their credit card). Otherwise, when you buy a soda, you'll either be giving coins, or getting coins as change, or both. |

Since you say this is “hype beyond all logic,” I’ll give you the logic. A tab is connected to a can and therefore is logically related to the can. A coin is used in some transactions related to cans, but at the time it is consumed, that transaction has happened a long time ago, and therefore a coin is not present when you are holding the can. In fact, you gave the coin away to buy the can.
To me, it is beyond all logic that you would possess the coin and can at the same time. It is amazing to me that when people can’t criticize an amazing trick’s quality (I know, I own it) and they want to keep criticizing, they will literally leap on anything to be able to maintain their criticism because they simply want to criticize. “Oh, look, not only are you drinking soda right now, but do you happen to have the change you received when you purchased it on you? No? That stinks, my trick relays on you carrying around the change in your pocket until you consume the soda.” Very natural premise. |
