I see there is a new line of jumbo coins made by Bacon Magic. I am wondering if anyone has purchased them yet and can give a review. I am particularly interested in the Kennedy half dollar and Morgan silver dollar. Always looking for jumbos that are very shinny and not like those old dull pot metal ones. Also, ones that will not tarnish that I have to keep polishing. Can Anyone tell me if the Bacon coins fits this description? Thanks.

The Kennedys are not really shiny. They do look great though. Craig Petty and his son reviewed the Shocking Hopping Half and Craig loved the jumbo coins. You can find their review on YouTube and see the coins. Also several clips are on YT for Shocking Hopping Half.

I purchased a half dollar and english penny before the Shocking Hopping Half routine became available. The coins are not shiny, as in like polished chrome. They do, however, have a finish on them that is semi glossish. So, it is a middle ground between the two. The english penny looks, finish wise, like someone simply enlarged a coin. I would say that the coins look natural not out of the way in that some of the older coins do. I have had several jumbo half dollars that developed a power like substance that would rub off on my hands with use. These are not at all like that.

I have the Morgan and English Penny. They look great and have good weight. Definitely more substantial than the usual pot metal jumbo coins.

I understand that the Bacon jumbo Kennedy half dollar is neither highly polished nor dull. A fellow member seemed to suggest it is somewhere “in between.”
Does this mean the finish is likened to being Matt or semi-matt?
…and does it tarnish over time and need to be cleaned-up and polished?

My apologies... Correction... fellow member "spudster85," pointed out in his earlier post that the Bacon Jumbo coins DO have a finish on them, and that they are semi-glossy (ie. rather than, as I was asking, semi-matt). This is very helpful. So thanks for this added info.

I would still like to hear from anyone in the know, whether the Jumbo Half dollar is likely to "tarnish" and/or "dull" over time (via oxidization), thus needing to be cleaned and re-polished every so often.

The jumbo half is very hard to describe. The surface is glossy, but looks semi glossy. The reason is that they have applied a black/gray stain to make the images, letters, and numbers stand out. The result is a coin that looks like a clad half. The coloring is what makes it look Matt, but the actual surface is reflective when it catches the light. The surface is polished smooth but I can not tell if there is a coating on it. I have only had mine for 2 months but have handled it quite a bit and performed with it several times. It still looks brand new without a scratch and I have slammed it on a wooden table several times. It is the most detailed jumbo half I have seen and is of high quality metal. I do not believe it will ever tarnish. That is my impression. The only negative for me is that you do not get that pop from a bright shinny coin which I think adds to the surprise factor. For me I would prefer to use my chrome plated jumbo coins but do not regret purchasing this Bacon version. If you want a jumbo that matches your clad coins that is high quality and very detailed get this. If you want a super bright shinny one then this is not it.

You can get a chrome spray paint at the larger hardware stores that may help. I have used it and am satisfied with the results.

Can you recommend a product name as I think most spray paints just look like silver paint or aluminum. Is there one that is bright/shinny like electroplated chrome and durable? Also, do you need to apply any base before painting or seal coat after painting?

Krylon was the brand and I did not prime or sealcoat it. Just cleaned it well with lighter fluid and a clean cloth first.
