There are various Chinese and Indian made ultra-thin palming coins listed on Amazon and online magic dealers , with a wide range of reviews some saying "great" others saying "these are worthless, look like toy plastic coins". Can anyone recommend a good quality palming coin ? (that is currently available, not something from yesteryear). Obviously with the coins being so light-weight due to how thin they are , they will not ring with the same sound as heavier real coin, but looking for palming coins that have a fairly good sound when dropped into a metal or glass container, not just a dull clunk.

I have always used half dollars for my miser's dream. You get the sound and the weight helps in the execution in my opinion.

Yes, I agree, in most cases real coins are better for the weight and the sound when dropped into a metal bucket or a glass, but in this case I'm looking for recommendations of good quality thin palming coins. Norm Nielsen's made from a hard nickel silver alloy were great , but no longer available.

Viking Magic lists these (but they are currently out of stock) -
https://vikingmagic.com/products/palming......nt-coins I messaged George Robinson at Viking to ask about these coins. He replied: "I purchase the coins from a company in Germany, R.O. Magic. I do not know where they are made, but they seem to be of good quality or I would not handle them. I hope this helps." ![]() |
