Last weekend at Blackpool I stopped by the Deceptive Secrets stand. Having purchased Gradient and Everyday ESP from them before, I was keen to see their latest release, Sentinel by Adam Dadswell, and I wasnt disappointed.
Without exposing anything, the core idea here is genuinely clever. Its one of those solutions that makes you smile when you see how its constructed. The handling feels very clean rather than procedural, something that can easily creep into duplication routines. There is also a nice bit of time misdirection which I'm a big fan of. The video instructions are excellent, I also liked that several handlings and options are taught, so youre not locked into one approach. There are also some nice subtleties shown. Its not self-working, however once you understand the handling its actually very straightforward to execute. Production quality is excellent and everything feels thoughtfully put together. If duplication is part of your repertoire, or you're looking to add this type of effect into your set, this is definitely worth a look. |

Thanks for the mention of SENTINEL - I've been really grateful of the response over the weekend and happy to have it available online.
For those interested I have also added a live performance on the web page from the weekend. Many thanks, Adam

I have seen Adam develop this for a while and the final product is so good and clean. So many people thought it was mad technology at blackpool too which is such a compliment for this product as it shows how clean it is.

Will Sentinel be available in the United States?

What is the difficulty level for Sentinel? Specifically, is it easy enough for a casual hobbyist? This effect looks amazing. Thanks in advance.

Having been impressed by a couple of Adam Dadswell’s previous releases (‘three’ by he and Luke Closer is more than worth checking out!!), I made sure to get a copy of Sentinel in Blackpool. The method and choreography are tidy and clean, and the gimmick is clever and well produced. The tutorial is excellently put together and professionally filmed, with plenty of tips and subtleties thrown in.
I’d say for anyone who is a fan of this plot this is worthy of their attention. Nice work!! Best wishes, Steve |

Hey @samdan
I'd say if you have handled billets or playing cards before and are comfortable having them taken and returned to the stack of cards then you should be fine. Basic card handling should be sufficient to perform SENTINEL. Many thanks for the review @stevie c - glad you are enjoying it! Cheers, Adam

Adam is an excellent performer and creator so you can't really go wrong with what he releases.

Looks like an “Alias Wallet” or “PaC Stack” build into a single business card to me.
Purely out of curiosity, what is the reason to go into the middle of the pile to take out a card and not just take it from above? |

Hey @Artin
I actually credit both Alias Wallet and PaC Stack on the project. As Alex mentioned, in my presentations, I have the pile of other cards be a mix of drawings and spare cards. I ensure the top card has another drawing on already. Cheers, Adam

I've just performed Sentinel for the first time (picked it up at Blackpool). I definitely have one complaint! It's too easy! I feel dirty! ;-) Seriously though, it went down really well. Loving it. The peeks are so well thought out; it feels like proper, old-school mentalism. I may have to shower afterwards though! ;-)

I just wanted to say that Sentinel was one of the highlights of the convention for me. It’s incredibly practical and really clever. Adam absolutely knocked it out of the park.
