I second that Peter X has great customer service. magicandcards is one of the best online magic shops with clever products. They look simple but pack a real punch. This looks like another winner!

I really like the look of this as well (a very magical experience for the spectator). But as others have pointed out, I also have concerns about the durability since props tend to take a beating during strolling gigs. But if Peter could offer purchaser's a video tutorial on how to transfer the device into a new card box, then I will almost surely take the plunge.

Thanks for your nice feedback.

Other customers and I were able to transfer the gimmick to a new box. You will need 2 boxes to make 1. I will try to film a tutorial video for the customers to show them how to transfer the gimmick. Give me a few days and I will add it to the tutorial page.

Thank you for this great idea! Smile

I know everybody loves this and it's handmade and a clever gimmick, etc, etc. Can you control how long it can be shaken before it stops making a rattle? It's just an awful lot for a card box, honestly

Yes. You shake it and it rattles. In another specific way, it stops. So, by either shaking it "regular" or in the specific way, you have complete control.

I filmed the tutorial on how to transfer the gimmick today. I am working on editing the video and uploading it soon.
I apologize for the quality of the video, I am not the best in videography, but, I tried my best to make the process as easy and clear as possible. Smile

I'll only be sending this video privately to those who ordered Gone Ring from https://magicandcards.com . The video shows the gimmick and how it works, so I don't want to expose the secret out of respect for its creator.

Thanks!

I thought I would circle back to share my thoughts about Gone Ring. Firstly, I want to thank Peter X for doing what he promised to do by making a tutorial that teaches how to transfer the gimmick when the box eventually gets worn. I am not an arts and crafts guy, but this is well within my capabilities. So, if you're looking at the price (expensive for a card box) rest assured, your money will not go down the drain. You'll have this in your arsenal for MANY years thanks to having the ability to rebuild a new unit when the time eventually comes.

When I first received mine, I will be honest that I was a bit disappointed because I couldn't dislodge the gimmick by shaking it hard or tapping it on a table. It wouldn't budge. So, I reached out to my friend Robert Sixx for advice, and he told me that it will gradually loosen... He was right. It did get better after spending only about 10 minutes playing with it. I also heard from another magician friend that they are making the "gimmick' a bit larger now to make this easier. So, if you order now this will be a non-issue.

The 'vanish' is a thing of beauty...After you experience this yourself, you'll quickly see how amazing this is going to play for spectators. The fact that the magic happens in THEIR hands is freaking awesome!! You are so far ahead of your audience. The next stage of course is where and how to re-produce the borrowed ring? I thought long and hard about this but found the PERFECT solution for strolling/ table-hopping with Dean Dill's long but forgotten 'Ring Finale'. It's basically a leather pouch filled with cheap inexpensive rings. Now you can create a routine that plays something like this, "Don't worry, if anything should happen to your ring, I will be happy to offer you any one of these fine rings" which you then hand to a second spectator. Then of course, the ring vanishes and appears INSIDE the leather pouch along with the others. Another possibility would be the Sansmind ring box, but I don't own one.

All told, this is a really nice innovation. Although, one suggestion that comes to mind is if there was a way to 'dock' the gimmick so that it won't make any premature noise before you place the ring inside. Maybe something like a magnet on the outside of the card box that you steal off while putting the cards into your pocket. I'll have to speak to Peter about this. But either way, rest-assured this will be a great purchase if you want hard-hitting magic that your audience will PHYSICALLY EXPERIENCE!!

Please check the tutorial link. I've added a couple more videos and it covers how to "hold" the gimmick so it doesn't rattle prematurely. If you have any other questions or concerns, please reach out. Always happy to help.
