Hey everyone,
If you're like most of us, your magic video library is a mess — links scattered across emails, bookmarks, notes apps, Dropbox folders... and half the passwords are lost. I built MY LIBRARY to fix exactly that. It's a simple web app (installs on your home screen like a real app) that lets you store all your tutorial video links in one clean, searchable place. Title, link, password — three fields, ten seconds, done. What it does: - Instant search across your entire library - Export your full library as a file (your backup, your pocket) - Import/merge on any device — phone, tablet, desktop - Works offline, no account needed, no cloud forced on you What it doesn't do: - No subscription. No monthly fee. No surprises. - Your data stays local on your device — no server, no tracking. One-time purchase: €14.95 After checkout, your personal access code is sent by email within 24h. https://www.jordanvictoria.fr/shop/my-library-78 Happy to answer any questions here or by PM. — Jordan Victoria |

This seems bad practice.
Surely everyone just downloads all tutorials - to stop themselves from being Ken Dyne-d If you have the correct software (free or cheaper than this app) - you can download any tutorial. Then keep them all in one folder. Having the links and password on some app - isn't going to help you when the site owners stop paying the yearly fees to maintain their presence. Having them downloaded means you watch them on an airplane/anywhere. I presumed everyone was doing this. This app seems a backward step. |

You make a valid point — downloading gives you permanent access, no matter what.
That said, if you own hundreds of videos, storing them all locally can take up a serious amount of space on your computer or hard drive. My personal situation is exactly why I built My Library: I wanted to be able to receive a product, spend 30 seconds adding it to the app, and access it instantly from anywhere — anytime. Traveling with just my phone and want to work on an idea? I'm in within 10 seconds. Sure, you could manage everything in a spreadsheet. But there's really no comparison. With My Library, you just type the name of the video (you don't even need the full title), tap it, copy the password, hit one button to open the link, paste — and you're already watching. I put together a short video to show just how fast it really is: https://youtube.com/shorts/JMBQlnkLQUU |

And you have loads of magic tutorials on websites all over the place. Different passwords, etc. Even then your product makes no sense. You would just share a Google Sheet (excel) document with yourself. You put in what ever information you want. It would take you less than 30 seconds per trick. And you can put in partial title in search and it will come up. You have access to the doc from any device, where ever in the world you are. Out, in, etc. Your app literally brings nothing new, or better. I also think you under estimate how large people's hard drives are now? Or rather I am surprised - in the last few years how large a capacity most people have compared so some years ago. I mean I recently bought two cheap drives just to use for backing up on and they are 22Tb drives. Come on though, however long someone has been in the business if they have - even 1Tb of magic videos... they ain't got them legally (at magic prices that would bankrupt Elon Musk), and they ain't performing or watching most of them videos in their liftime. Even in 8k. |

To be fair, I think this fills a need for some people. And it's really not a bad idea and not outrageously priced. That said, I typically will download the tutorial. But I see the problem Jordan is trying to solve, and I've encountered this myself. It's irritating to have to go hunt down the product box to retrieve the password, for example.
I understand some creators are trying to get a handle on piracy of their products and don't allow downloading of their tutorial. (There's almost always a way, but it can occasionally get a bit involved)
I will specifically avoid purchasing such effects. I find it a bit insulting, as if the creator does not trust you. I have bought the effect, let me download the tutorial. Especially if there is a gimmick involved that is not easily reproduced at home. And sadly I've also purchased tricks where the online tutorial has disappeared, which is also super annoying. If there is some question in regards to availability of a downloadable tutorial I will occasionally ask first before purchasing. And providing a QR code ONLY to access a tutorial is not convenient to me, it's just an annoying pain, in my opinion. I don't view tutorials on my phone. Just my two cents, to each his own. Suggested Google sheets is another reasonable way, and there are probably many other solutions people have come up with, as well. But I think this solution could be really useful for some. . |

Except Google Sheets seems more secure - by that I mean you don't need to worry about a new operating system or update for your computer. As Microsoft will be on top of any issues. Which may not be the case here. It seems Google Sheets would be more versatile in that you could fill in what ever info you wish, and categorise in any way you want. But the best tip - is always download every tutorial. Do NOT rely on it being up in a few years. Even if it's someone 'big' like Vanish Inc or Penguin. I mean how many shops/companies have folded/not continued to provide the videos. Along with creators who all say 'it will be online forever' for you to view. Yep, right. It's not a good idea for the creators to pay every year to host videos - when 99.9% of sales will be when it first comes out. As after that it's just costing them money. So they may as well cut and run. Though they should (unlike Ken Dyne) at least warn people so they can download the videos in question. He's a naughty boy. |

Thanks everyone for chiming in — this is exactly the kind of conversation I was hoping for.
@The Duster — I hear you, and you're not wrong. Downloading is the safest long-term strategy, full stop. If you already have a bulletproof system (local files, massive drives, organized folders), My Library probably isn't for you — and that's fine. But not everyone works that way. A lot of magicians — especially performers who are always on the go — own 100/200+ tutorials they haven't downloaded, either because the creator doesn't allow it, because they never got around to it, or simply because they bought the trick for one specific move and never needed the full file on disk. For those people, juggling passwords across emails, WhatsApp messages, and sticky notes is a real daily friction. That's the problem I'm solving. @influentialist — Bitwarden is a great shout for tech-savvy users. My Library is more aimed at people who aren't managing a password vault. One-tap access, no browser extension, no setup — just open the app and search. Different tools for different people. @dooblehorn — You nailed it perfectly. "It's irritating to have to go hunt down the product box to retrieve the password" — that's exactly the moment I built this for. And you're right about QR-code-only tutorials: they're increasingly common, and increasingly annoying if you're not watching on your phone. At €14.95, it's less than most single tricks. If it saves you 10 minutes of frustration even once a month, it's already paid for itself. |

Vanishing Inc's website already performs this exact service for free. You can add any tutorial, even ones not purchased through them.

Click "Instruction Links" on your Vanishing Inc profile, and you will see this:
**Store instructions for every trick you've purchased!** "Purchased a trick from another store that has online instructions? Record the instruction info and we'll store them below alongside your Vanishing Inc. instruction links so that you can keep them in one place." Vanishing Inc. already performs your service for free. Would you acknowledge this? |

I completely hear what you're saying, and I don't overlook the value of free alternatives. Having free options is always great for the community.
However, there is a trade-off. With many of those platforms, you’re often required to create an account, manage newsletters, and deal with promotional offers. More importantly, you usually need to be actively logged in and navigate through several links just to reach your content. The core philosophy behind My Library is pure convenience and speed. It’s designed for the performer who wants to open an app and have everything right there—no logging in every time, no searching for specific links, and no friction. If you want to access a video in under 10 seconds, that’s where this shines. I’ve kept the price very affordable specifically for this reason: it’s not just about storage, it’s about providing a streamlined, professional workflow for those who value their time. If the free route works for your workflow, that’s fantastic, but for those looking for an integrated, 'one-tap' experience, I believe My Library offers a lot of value for a very small investment. |
