Actually, yes, that’s what I’m asking. I found the review, it’s by Chris Edwards. Once the US sized card was inserted, he showed how it stuck
Put a bit from the top then explained how it prevented the lock function to work. When he tilted the front of the wallet down a bit, cards slid out. Not a deal breaker, but just worth knowing. |

The wallet is not put in the lock position during the performance.
I hope this helps Peter |

I very much like the way Alakazam have been commendably open about this release so everyone can guage whether it is for them or not. Well done Alakazam.

Yes, watched the Alakazam youtube video from the launch. You can see the restrictions and features on there. They are quite open that the main intention isn't as a peek wallet as it's a limited peek and the main function is the double writing. They've put in the product details about the issues around US business card so there won't be any nasty shocks there. Watching I don't think it's for me over an SUC function, but it's good that they have as openly as possible showed the features, what it can and can't do. Not my style, but good to have tools in different looks as sure someone else will love it.

Just tested and you can lock the cards once they are extended out of the Castle Wallet, and they don't fall out - though I don't think locking them at that point is a necessary step.
The cards extended out of the wallet are really just a quick vehicle for insertion of the billet, and then the cards are pushed back down (at which point you can lock - especially if you are handing the wallet to a spectator to hold while you are divinating what's on the billet). |

The last part of the Alakazam Live (on their YouTube channel) exposes the basic method but at a high level the Pros and Cons vs the SUC
Castle Pros Modern design Peek / writing area in between credit cards Can show the wallet 360 (after the peek) SUC Pros Lager peek area |

Another “Pro” with the Castle Wallet (as well as some others) over the SUC is that after you get your peek you can have the spectator sandwich the wallet between their hands and you can also hold their hands with yours if so desired.
But the writing feature is probably the main thing that sets it apart from the others. |

Is the Live available still on YouTube?
I'd like to understand the mechanism for writing/ inserting before deciding whether to buy. |

Little incongruity of a card sticking above the case while it's done. People in the know will see it, audiences probably won't. The feature of it being trapped between cards feels more like magician thinking than mentalist thinking and it's not something you're about to point out as when using a wallet for a routine you want to draw as little attention to it as possible. It's just convenient place to put a card out the way. A lot of what this is doing can be done with an SUC including the sandwiches between cards, so it's more a preference of what you want your wallet to look like. If this suits your aesthetic more than a leather one you may like it. Initial thoughts are toy for amateurs but that's fine as there is a place for things like this that can perform a few casual tricks. Strikes me as less suitable to say strolling as you'd need to reload it with more cards as you went. But hard to say without seeing properly. |

I just received my Castle Wallet, and I’ve discovered a pretty major flaw. None of my credit cards stay secure inside, they’re all loose and will fall out if the wallet is tipped even slightly.
From what I can tell, this is due to the inner dimensions being slightly wider than a standard credit card. I understand this was intentional, since Simon mentions in the intro that the wallet was extended by a couple of millimeters compared to standard credit card wallets in order to accommodate UK business cards, which are a bit wider. Unfortunately, because of that, all of my actual credit cards just slide right out. The two dummy cards that came with the wallet, on the other hand, stay snug because they’re made slightly wider than a standard credit card, but none of my real cards fit securely. Has anyone else run into this issue?? |

Update:
I reached out to Harry Nardi, and he was really helpful. It turns out the sliding lever on the side of the wallet has a second click that needs to be engaged. After pushing the cards in, if you give the lever an extra push upward, it locks them much more securely. Before, they were extremely loose, but now it’s a big improvement. That said, if you jostle the wallet, the cards can still slip out, so it’s not 100% foolproof, but definitely much better once you know about that extra click. Just wanted to share in case anyone else missed that detail. |

I have this but I would never use it as an everyday wallet far too heavy and bulky and it just looks odd.

What if the spectator bits the card in the wrong way? Seems like you would only get a partial peek if I am correct?

Yes the peek is only on the bottom half or so of the billet.
You should probably mark the billet or business card to ensure it is placed in the right way. |

A simple way is just before they put it back in the wallet you ask them to look at it one more time to burn the thought in their mind. Obviously they’ll hold the billet in the correct orientation to read it, and from there you can make sure they slide it directly into the wallet.

SUC is a simple, classy looking leather business card wallet. I’d also argue if you’re showing your wallet all around from each side you need to adjust your handling, you’re putting way too much emphasis (heat) on the wallet. In the case of the credit cards, if you wanted to you could set up a dummy credit card in suc that the peek card goes in front of, in fact this gambit is used in a number of wallets. Let me propose some new pros, SUC Classic leather wallet. Innocent in appearance Close to full peek Pocket writing available CASTLE Latest gadget |
